Can't understand all the Broad hate. If anybody ever starts an appreciation society for him I will join it just to make sure that criticism against him is balanced out. Honestly feel he is better than Finn.
Maybe so, but he's produced **** all this series. Maybe he's better than Finn but one of Onions, Shazhad etc are more deserving of a place ATM.

I'd love to hear the argument how Shahzad's more deserving, even as a bias Yorkshire man. He's bowled well below average for Yorkshire all year and is now injured.

I haven't followed him playing for Yorkshire, but he's impressed me when he's bowled for England and I feel he offers a different proposition bowling wise.

I just feel him or someone else should've been given an oppurtunity.

I think Englnd shoould be disappointed to have let SL get to 177. In those conditions they should have bowled them out for 150 MAX!

I think Jimmy was actually swinging the ball too far - his outswingers were moving more than a bat width off original line, so the batsmen were not capable of nicking the ball. In some conditions he can be so good he becomes ineffective, if that makes any sense.

Very disappointed with Broad again. Perhaps he needs a spell back in the county game to re-learn his art before forcing his way back into the England side.

Weatherwise, I don't think there will be any more play today, and limited play tomorrow too. :thumbdown

I don't know how difficult the conditions necessarily were, I don't think the bowling conditions were as good as yesterday but I don't think they were as difficult as they were being made out to be. I don't think the ball swung that much today compared to yesterday, especially that last hour and half. I just think Tremlett bowled really well and with they're being a bit more life in the pitch, the SL didn't deal with him too well.
Even though it was overcast, it was raining a fair amount of the time and it was also bitterly cold, not the best bowling conditions.
We'll see how England bat on the pitch because it looks a pretty decent pitch to me for both bat and ball.

haven't bowled much have you?8-) Have you even watched any of today?
No matter how overcast it was, bowing in 15 degrees, cold temps and raining on and off for a couple of hours, isn't the best bowling conditions. Not saying it was a perfect day for batting but simply not as good for bowling, as it was yesterday.

No further play today, pissing it down still.:@
By the looks of the forecast for tomorrow, it looks just as bad. Unbelievable, we had unusually great weather, up to the start of the test series and dire since it started.
