This Anderson chap frightens the **** outta me. He is actually going to destroy India using levels of swing never previously seen, isn't he!
I've actually never seen a bowler have such control over such movement in both directions in my cricket-watching life.

EDIT: Looks like it's raining...

Indeed, pretty special ability and the control to go with it.

Indeed...India do have the greatest assembly of batsman in the history of time, but ****ing hell this dude swings the ball like no other.

No disgrace for Thirimanne there. I'd rather not make my debut on a grey day against Anderson armed with a new Duke.

nah India's played enough of Steyn to be able to tackle Anderson.
Steyn is a different prospect though. It's not unreasonable to suggest that when the conditions suit Anderson is the more dangerous bowler - is 10kmh slower but moves the ball a fair bit more and moves it both ways with ease, which Steyn doesn't.

See what you mean, but it's classic swing bowler's gambit. Pitch it up to invite the drive at one that's leaving you.
Yeah, I'm a big fan.

From the other side, it's such a poor shot to play when the ball is swinging. I had a massive rant during the South Africa series about the Indian batsmen playing the cover drive. Sure, it's in the MCC coaching manual, but when the ball is swinging it's about as good a percentage shot as the wild swing across the line. Jimmeh has three or four slips, a gully, and a huuuuge gap at cover. The entire plan is to make the batsman cover drive, and it's on a whole other level of obvious. Why do modern batsmen keep walking straight into it?

Yeah, agree there. It must require an iron mentality to just cut it out, but in such situations, when you're facing bowlers of the calibre of Steyn and Anderson in these conditions, you simply have to do it.
