Tom Westly gone for 99, but him and Tendo doing the business. Essex should get a first innings lead here.

18yo keeper Ben Foakes in now. Hoping he goes on to play for England, just so as we can have a 6-8 of Stokes, Foakes and Woakes at some point.

As for Topley, I only saw one spell from him and it looked pretty haphazard. But that was the 4th innings of this match, so it's not the most relevant spell there is.

I see that the Roof and Fernando were up to usual no-ball tricks. Why can't the SL quicks control the position of their front feet?

And Topley picks up another just before the close. Played, lad.
Yes, he's a exciting prospect, I still think Essex have done SL a favor, only bowling him 7 overs yesterday, when he's obviously the more threatening bowler, in their line up and letting Sanga gets his eye in, we'll see if he takes this form, into the 3 test.

Broad actually has an excellent home record, especially in recent years, so he's worth keeping for now.

Would feel a touch comfier with him or Bresnan at no.8 too, and since Timbo's injured, stick with Broad.
