Be interesting to try to keep a tally of how many times "upish" or "upishly" are used by the comms when Broad drives.
I don't think SL would have been too unhappy to see that wide & not a half-volley driven boundary in the first over of the day. Conditions are as easy as they're going to get, and Broad should be looking to bat for a very long time rather than treat this as a glorified net session. Ditto Swann, actually, who hasn't done a lot with the bat in recent times iirc.

I've said it before but Broad's batting is really good to watch when he gets set.
