**Official** Sri Lanka in England and Ireland 2016

Rankin has been doing alright in the 50 over stuff for the Bears. Would think he will get picked, as a rotational seamer rather than banked on starter.

There is no way that a fit + available Rankin doesn't play for Ireland. Pace depth really ain't there.

When I saw Cricket Ireland weren't broadcasting this on their YouTube channel this year I thought that was a step back, but in fact they're only not doing that because it's televised properly now on pay television in the UK, Eire and the US (and I assume Sri Lanka too?). They'll actually be earning money out of that instead of the broadcast coming at a cost; awesome news.

Which channel in UK is showing this match? Sky Sports is not showing it.

303/7 Chandimal100*, Mathews 49, shanaka 42( off 19) .looked good TBH..agree that tharanga shouldn't be batting so low..

I think if they lost 4 quick wickets (within first 25-30 overs, say) then Tharanga would be sent at no. 6
Tharanga has never been a good middle-over option. I don't know why they are trying to change a guy after a whole career opening.

Yes that's strange. I don't know if Tharanga is in good domestic form. If he is in good form then he should be in the top 3; otherwise Siriwardana is a better option at no. 6.

Haha Shanaka's start to ODI bowling career is similar to how he started the first few overs in debut test.

He could open with Perera but the selectors have brought in Gunathilaka to open and personally, I would want Kusal Mendis to stay at 3 , chandi at 4 and Mathews at 5 so earliest I could see him bat is 6 (Siri has been dropped for the series unfortunately ). Shanaka batted very well today so i reckon he will take the #7slot. I gather that Tharanga has been playing in theBangladesh leagues and has done well there hence his inclusion..
