Well Done Bangladesh, Very well deserved Victory. First India, then Australia and now Sri Lanka. I think BD are improving very fast in ODIs and in next few years they will be very competitive.

Go Bangladesh!!! Looks like the prospect of missing the Champions Trophy was too tragic for them.

Awesome stuff, I love how people write them off after one match and then they win the next one.

Aftab!

Well played to Bangladesh. I do hope that they go ahead and beat Australia in a test match when they are touring Bangladesh. If that happens, lots of big mouths around the world will be shut up forever.

Also, a good win for Bangladesh. First to bowl Sri Lanka out for 212 and throw a good display of fielding and then to finally chase it down to win.

And let me fill it up for Bangladesh by thanking all people out here, including the Sri Lankans for their support of Bangladesh cricket. It is always good to support the minnows, although Bangladesh are not one now since they beat India and Australia and followed it up by beating Sri Lanka as well. Lets hope they do win matches more consistently and be among the top 4-5 teams in cricket soon.

Only when they are not playing against your own side.

That said, I saw the match, yup, all of it from the 10th over of the first innings, because of that very reason. Ashraful is impressive. But the way he got out was dumb especially since he simply emulated the mistake that his skipper made only a few minutes ago.

I would not call this win by Bangladesh as an upset anymore for since they have beaten Australia last year and India in late 2004, it has always been believed that they can win more matches and some people were expecting that Bangladesh will be able to pull 1 or 2 off against Sri Lanka.

Now it is the time that a new team came along and upsets Bangladesh themselves. If Bangladesh wins a match now, it shouldnt go down as an upset as after all, they are a "test team" and a "test team", is always expected to be competitive against other "test teams" and should thrash the "non-test teams". Bangladesh, have joined the league of big teams now and the "top 8", has turned into a "top 9" with Bangladesh being the latest members there.

Uhhhh.....small steps there. Let's not declare them The Invincibles just yet.

Next step would be to consistantly draw test matches, at least against weaker opposition like WI.

If they play WI in a three match series and WI wins it 1-0, and Bangladesh manage to draw the other two (after five full days of play), I would consider that a huge improvement.

When will every Bangladesh victory stop being described as historical? When people like me get convinced that they can play international cricket? Well this hasnt done their rep any harm at all.. And thats the first good thing I've said about Bangladesh in 16,000ish posts..

Calm down. It is still only 1 win.

Considering the number of young quality players they have on the pipeline, I would say that day is not very far. Very soon Mushfiqur Rahim's team will dominate the world cricket.

3 if you count the dodgy game against Pakistan in WC99
Not fair.

It's one thing ignoring their victories against the might of Kenya, Scotland and Zimbabwe, but they have beaten India as well.

They beat India in a game fairly recently as well, making it three (and four if you count the Pakistan game..).

No. You still have to think that until they start putting together wins, and series wins, they will be the underdogs, and it will be an upset for years to come. I hope that they can carry on improving.

They have to learn that at the moment, the best way for them to win is to play a scrappy game, they are not going to go out and give anyone an absolute beating just yet. Sort of like the WI NZ game yesterday too. They just have to learn how to fight a bit better. Be a bit nuggety.

Godd on them though. Still think they will miss out on the Champions Trophy though unless Zim really surprise Kenya
