I truly hope that we get some surprises and we pick a much younger team. We need to rebuild from scratch. But I have been going on about this for 2 years now. They have got so much to think over. If Mpitsang keeps to his word that he wants to think ahead with selections then we may get a surprise or 2.
Definitely not what I want! And the quota system slipped my mind for a second. I hope Mpitsang goes his own way with the selection. What you want or what you think they will do ?
Always one that I confuse myself with. Basically keeping the same lot who have failed ?
Heard so many great stories about Charles Fortune. Icon of that era.![]()
Zak Yacoob admonishes TV cricket commentators: 'Blind people are watching too' | Sport
Television cricket commentators are in hot water with CSA interim board chairperson Judge Zak Yacoob for their lack of description.www.news24.com
I miss the radio commentary days. Loved having it on in the background. That is definitely something that should be brought back in SA.
I am of the opinion that both Hamza and Petersen should play in the Tests this year and given a decent run. I would not mind them playing de Bruyn again either and give him a final shot. With van Tonder next man.Raynard v Marques will be interesting. You almost feel they could be in line after Petersen for pure batsmen test debuts.
We could do with some runs from the test batsmen bar ElgarI am of the opinion that both Hamza and Petersen should play in the Tests this year and given a decent run. I would not mind them playing de Bruyn again either and give him a final shot. With van Tonder next man.
I am not a fan of playing P.Malan, vd Dussen or D.Pretorius. I think they are a backward step and not trying to build towards a future team. Markram, Hamza and de Bruyn are young enough and talented enough to be given the opportunity to try prove themselves and allow us to move forward. If we don't give them the opportunity now then we just slow the building of the team, not able to know where they stand long term.Markram, P.Malan, Hamza, de Bruyn, Bavuma, vd Dussen, D.Pretorius - if they are picked again they need to make sure they can be part of the potential best test team in the world. I've got severe question marks over all of them at the moment sadly.
At 7 now. A bit of swing I assume, then the left-armer becomes a whole different beast.Beuran increasing that gap to the rest in the competition to be the 4th best seamer in SA. 5 for nothing at Wanderers.
Especially with no SA A series in build up I can only see them going back to the tried and tested.I am not a fan of playing P.Malan, vd Dussen or D.Pretorius. Bavuma is the obvious tough one because of the quota pressures, I actually like him and at times has showed something but just much to inconsistent and gets out to often in stupid ways. He may end up playing for another year or two but I am hoping that Qeshile or Makwetu comes along quickly to take the quota pressure off.
He should be playing ahead of Corbin Bosch so it is good to see him getting an opportunity.Chance for Nandre to show what he has? It would be good to see Rickelton get some runs as well.
