Nice to see him get his ton. Hopefully he can keep it up for RSA this season.
Probably still a bit of a lottery who opens with him. Probably will be P.Malan or Markram but you never know - J.Malan, Moore, Erwee might score runs at the right time.

Great to see the season start. It is a little scary how quickly Covid has become a part of our lives but I'm glad the boys are back on the field.

Onto my Dolphins! I see the logic in the team that was picked. Two seamers, two spinners, a pace bowling allrounder and a spin bowling allrounder. Quietly become a Mungroo fan over time. Knows how to get wickets. My issue is with the batting,I don't see the meat in that middle order. Especially with Andile Phelukwayo at 7. Zondo has probably leveled out,but hopefully Muthusamy kicks on with the bat.

Kourie/Eksteen/Harris etc all had long & succesful careers as finger spinners in the highveld. It has been done before.

Probably does need a mental shift.
We all have dreams of Mulder being 'the' guy to balance our team, but he needs to stay fit first. De Kock isn't moving up the order,so perhaps a Linde or Muthusamy could be that 7 for now. I didn't mention Phelukwayo for now because he hasn't done anything of note in FC cricket unlike Muthusamy and Linde. If I'm missing an allrounder let me know!

Looking at last season's stats first-class stats, these appear to be the best allround performances (minimum of 4 matches).

George Linde (6 matches):
345 runs @ 49, HS 148*
30 wickets @ 21, BBI 7/64

Jason Smith (8 matches):
452 runs @ 41, HS 85
11 wickets @ 35, BBI 2/44

Senuran Muthusamy (5 matches):
242 runs @ 30, HS 80
21 wickets @ 27, BBI 7/36

Jon-Jon Smuts (6 matches):
319 runs @ 35, HS 75*
22 wickets @ 26, BBI 6/50

Other potential names which come to mind are Dayyan Galiem, Marco Jansen, and Gerald Coetzee (although those last two may be more bowlers who are handy with the bat than true allrounders).

You guys are well balanced.

de Swardt , Dupavillon & Ntanzi who aren't in this XI have every chance of coming in next week & you will be even stronger.

Agreed re : Wiaan.

Think he just needs to stay on the park for a bit. Even if bowling is put on the back burner for a bit. More than good enough to score centuries & be 1 of the best batsmen in the country.

They will probably keep faith Dwaine Pretorius unfortunately. Especially home against Sri Lanka.

The other major gripe will be Pieter Malan still opening with Elgar. Two similar types.

Knights folding in Bloem. If Warriors scored 60-80 more runs in their first innings who knows what might have happened.

Verreynne putting his hand up again.

Feel like janneman will get a go whenever south Africa play next with algae at the top, already cemented his spot In the odi team.

I would go for Janneman over Pieter too.

After his 100 v Australia you got to think he will be in the squad v England. Him & Smuts were nice bonuses v Aus.
