What was Jennings saying about the wicket being too easy for batting? :p
To be fair it was a batsmans paradise. That makes it even worse. I don't even want to watch... Suspect this another Bok nightmare..

AB, your time is now boy.. Show us you can be the best..

Powell's bowling with pace. Also, bowling extremely well, which helps when you're bowling around 90mph.

Jenning's comment is going to go down as one of the biggest howlers ever!

This is really good for West Indies cricket; the world needs a strong WIndies

Why?

Ever suspected that maybe, just maybe, some wickets can be a product of a bowler bowling extremely well, or some rubbish shots?

Pitch is a featherbed, no excuses for 30/4.. Just stop making Jennings a scapegoat because you don't like him, its our top order at fault...

Strong West Indies?? Don't be so fickle..

What I mean is, he's going to sound like a complacent idiot when you look back at this. It may be the top order's fault but he'll still get the blame, surely?

Nah, if its a flat pitch he has the right to say its a flat pitch! Lets hope he wasnt drumming that into our batsmen though.. You're still in a test match chasing 500 and loads

Fair play to AB. He's actually trying to construct a test innings. Looks to be a real talent.

Pity some of his senior colleagues didn't take a leaf outta his book.

Whoa! Let's not get carried away yet. Admittedly I can't remember the last time the West Indies dominated for three consecutive days of a Test match, but there's still a HUGE mountain to climb even to win this Test.

Very impressive stuff. A few noballs, but he was accurate and was livelier than the South African bowlers, bar Nel.

It's a hell of a good start though, Liam.

Beautiful delivery by Pedro to get rid of Graeme Smith.

it is good to see once again, but it is a little bit ominious when this is a second string windies side

Windies making a mockery of my pre-match pessimism. Wonderful stuff so far, though it would have been nice to see the youngsters get a bigger share of the runs.

W Hinds looks to have made real technical improvements; driving beautifully, and generally along on the ground, through the off side and straight. I'd guess that a far lower percentage of his runs than usual came from hoicks to leg.

Shiv was, well, just Shiv and Pagon looked very smooth.

Terrific start today by Powell (didn't know he was that quick) and Pedro. The latter - as LE mentions - getting the ball rolling with a lovely out-swinger to remove Smith.

Still plenty to do though. Reon and the part-time offies will have to bowl equally well to force a result, even if the rain does hold off.

South Africa bowling: 8 no-balls, 2 wides, 5 wickets for 543.
West Indies bowling: 16 no-balls, 1 wide, 6 wickets for 96.

Jennings might have succeded in cutting the no-ball rate, but I think he'd still prefer the second set of figures...
