***Official*** South Africa v West Indies

Yes, I do agree that the Windies shouldve batted further along... ah well, its in the past. They cant think about that anymore, rather just on how to bowl to these South Africans! Good luck boys... its a pity Im in bed while it happens... :D

Looking forward to seeing (well not actually 'seeing'... damn you Foxtel) how King and Powell do. Mr. King has a very decent Test record though this is boosted somewhat by a few games against Zimbabwe. The fourth bowler's spot I guess will be filled by R Hinds, Deonarine and perhaps the other Hinds. Deonarine actually has a decent FC bowling record, but Ryan Hinds has a much better one... which doesn't fill me with a great deal of hope, for some reason.

Argh...
13.45 GMT: Players are not at the ground at present, prospects of any play before tea looks unlikely.

West Indies have very little chance of forcing a win with this bowling lineup now. Unless the ground staff 'accidentally' leave off the covers, leaving South Africa to fend for themselves on a mudbowl on day 4. :D

A better Zimbabwe side than the current one though. That team had Andy Flower, Grant Flower and Murray Goodwin.

Out of interest, who is it held by now?
Arjuna Ranatunga - 5105 runs with a HS of 135*.

Edit: Not likely to be overtaken quickly either - the next current player is Shaun Pollock with 3120 runs, HS 111...

I prusume Warne holds the record for most runs without a century?

Yup.

While we're at it, Alec Stewart holds the record for most without a double ton (at 8463), which Kallis is the closest to overtake with 6945, and Waqar Younis holds the record for most runs without a fifty at 1010 with Merv Dillon chasing at 546.

In other words, they're gonna stay for a while.

Is there a case for losing Guyana as a test venue?? It always seems to rain, always during the cricket. Its effectively on top limits of the South American jungle and you cant help but think its always going to pour down. How about Beausejour?

Bye bye Graeme.

Correction: It always rains at Boarda unless the West Indies is getting thrashed by Australia.

Jeez! That was an ordinary shot!

I bet you'd have got long odds against 16/3!
What was Jennings saying about the wicket being too easy for batting? :p

Didn't the South Africans say they were aiming for a 4-0 whitewash? Admittedly that was assuming the dropped players wouldn't return but still, this team is hammering them right now.

Taxi for Jennings
