A disappointing dismissal for Chanderpaul, caught and bowled for 35. Not much in it, just a lame push it seems.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that means Gayle, Sarwan and Chanders scored exactly the same amount of runs as Devon, Ganga and Pagon?

Interesting... :p

Worth noting that Lara is now both the 3rd highest runscorer in Test cricket and has the most centuries by a West Indian in Test cricket. Congratulations and applause.
Have to hand it to him - what an innings in those circumstances!

Well done Lara.

I've always loved watching him bat-actually he is my favourite batsmen to watch. Do you think this innings will possibly see him regain the captaincy?

unlikely, dont think lara will be captain of WI again my guess is that he'll play has the WI premier batsman until he decides he has become bored of destroying international bowlers

Except Pagon played this match, so your point doesn't stand. :p

No. That would make no sense at all. How does runscoring affect captaincy ability? Added to that, Chanderpaul scored 203 not out last game.

Lara doesn't seem to want the captaincy that badly. In the post-match meet and greet he told the press he sees this as a challenge because now he doesn't have the captaincy as a crutch. It was rather amusing actually, as he said he now has to earn his place as a specialist batsman. That's the right attitude in my estimation.

He also said that at his age you never know when you'll your last Test is in front of the home crowd, so he's putting everything into every innings he plays.

I'm pretty sure they weren't calling him "an antiman" but I can't repeat what they were calling him. :p

Jamaicans are weird. :p

Whaa? Just because you`re a good batsman, doesn`t mean you get the captaincy! :D

EDIT: Ah... it seems Liam read my mind. In advance. :D

I'm not sure what they were calling him. The closest thing to what you said i'm thinking of but i don't think they called him that.

hehe i see your point

Forgive me for posting that, especially in view of the fact that I don't really know much about the current situation. I just thought (evidently foolishly :p ) that if he scored runs and maybe played a crucial innings or something he might have 'proven a point' or something to the selectors showing how much he means to the team etc.
Anyway, I think I'll stop digging a hole for myself here...

But perhaps now that he's relieved of his captaincy responsibility he might perhaps, with the dramatic reduction in pressure, score more freely and consistantly. I hope this is the case.

You said it! :)

And based on evidential probability, that theory is correct. [see: Lara`s 150]
