Fifty for Bavuma too, well played! Followed by the century partnership.
These two have trusted their defence; and de Bruyn in particular is reading the spinners off the hand.

But his has become the kind of wicket where one can get out at any moment.

Really good performance from these two. Runs in these conditions against the likes of Herath are useful for their careers IMO.

Both young batsmen standing up a bit. Good to see. First session of this series I sat down to watch too

...Bavuma gets out.

Your fault
Borges most responsible imo

Happy man right now; great from these 2. Pissed that there is not another test after this.
Nice to see some there's still some batsmen with balls in this lineup.

Good knock from Bavuma. Highest partnership of the series and nearly went a session without losing a wicket.
de Bruyn will be sweating as I’m not sure he will be getting the same kind of support from de Kock.

Three reverse sweeps in the first four deliveries. Doesn’t trust defence. de Kock's a liability.

I'm surprised by how low de Kock's average is given how he burst on to the scene as if he was the next Gilchrist

Nearing a maiden test century, with a break in play, is enough to make any one nervous; now he also has to worry about running out of partners.
Dearly hope he gets there. It would be well deserved.

Would be even lower but Dane Vilas took a bullet for him. They need to get Klaasen into the side.

It would have suited SA a bit more to have Philander come out next and give de Bruyn some company.

Typical SSC pitch. Batting is easiest on final two days.
I think it is more the older ball, the pitch has not changed that much.... de Bruyn and Bavuma, did well. If you can get your eye in you can make runs, proper test match pitch.
