Oh of course Gilchrist & Ponting = "most of the senior players" does it  who's talking rubbish
"We've experienced quite a few injuries, five or six of our top players weren't there, so it's a bit of a different mix of players and it sometimes takes a little while to get settled. If you take one or two players out of any other team in the world it would unsettle them, but to take five or six out would really destroy them." - Hussey after the series.
No Lee, No Clarke, No Hayden (Edit: only for a match it seems!?), No McGrath for the final match.

Edit: This was our batting top order for the final one-dayer:

ML Hayden
SR Watson
BJ Haddin
BJ Hodge
MEK Hussey
CL White
AC Voges

This was our bowling:
NW Bracken 9.3 0 44 1 4.63 (3w)
SW Tait 10 0 60 2 6.00 (3w)
MG Johnson 10 0 81 3 8.10 (2w)
SR Watson 10 0 88 2 8.80 (1nb, 1w)
GB Hogg 7 0 40 0 5.71 (1w)
AC Voges

McGrath played in the other two matches, and some of these guys went on to the World Cup, but in my opinion it's not just Gilchrist and Ponting that are missing...hence the 'etc'

So in answer to your question...you are, absolute ****e in fact.

Why Tait was left out??? Injured or just rested?
Finds it difficult to back up in a short space of time is the suggestion from the commentators, just like he seems out of puff after an over or two. Maybe his stamina needs improving. His action may not be sustainable either according to the experts. Puts a lot of strain on his body.

Rested i guess, but still Australia are again a bowler short today, and Ponting would have to rely on the likes Hussey bros, and White to fill in as the 5th bowler which could prove to be disastrous, 250 aren't too many runs to play with, and taking wickets with the new ball is going to be vital.

Hilfenhaus really reminds me of Alderman pre shoulder injury - plenty of away swing and bounce at good pace

BTW, why wouldnt the Oz selector play Bollinger rather than Harris if for no other reason than to give him experience.

I think either the speed gun in Tassie is wrong or the dry air speeds up bowlers by a few kph.

Harris bowling @ 146 / 147....wow!
Harris has been bowling in that speed bracket this season, and considering its his debut today he is only going to put in further effort.

EDIT: What's going on here? Did Ponting forgot to take the bowling power-play last over or was it only a ploy to let Hopes settle into a line and length first-up.

I guess they just don't see Bollinger as much of an ODI option which is quite ridiculous imo.

Seems crazy when you consider that he is reputedly a genuine swing bowler

However, even if he wasnt, I'd play him for a while just so he could gain some experience
