I prefer seeing him playing a front-foot pull shot off an express pace bowler, in the air but with absolute safety.Blaze said:Ricky Ponting getting hit on the helmet has to be one of the best sights in cricket.
Kind of what I was thinking as well, it was a bit of a weird choice, but you do normally bat first on the WACA. Plus, they were saying the pitch will probably be spinning a bit more than usual so it would be good for Warne in the fourth innings.social said:Strange decision by Ponting.
Win the toss in overcast and cool conditions against a team totally reliant on seam and without its best batsman. What does Ponting do? The guy's a genius
Pulled a half-voley ??parttimer said:3 magnificent boundaries from Ponting, that half volly was pulled from way outside off stump.. genius
Yes perhaps not the best choice of words. But you're being pedanticSJS said:Pulled a half-voley ??
Are you sure ?
How did he do that ?
I'd say "pulled a length delivery outside off-stump" would be the better way to put it. It was a remarkable shot.SJS said:Pulled a half-voley ??

James90 said:These commentators are absolutely kill me. Tony Greig is sooooo clueless. I think it's obvious when Ponting middles it or not quite but Tony seems to think if it's four it's come right out of the middle.
Did you see before with the super slow-mo? With Ponting's pull over midwicket, that was quite obviously a top edge. Then they put super slow-mo on it and proved that fact and Tony says..
"And look at that bat swivell in his hands, that definitely came out of the meat"....are you the biggest ****** ever?
AAGH!
Me too! I really do hope there's a change in commentary soon.andyc said:
It took them forever to realise Ntini's bouncer to Ponting was off the gloves first, but you could clearly see it the first time.
