I think we've seen that Australia still aren't good enough when challenged to grind out a total, rather than smash a score.

Agreed, they just don't seem to know how to chase a total larger than 350 or so against a decent bowling line up. Langer and Ponting, and recently Hussey, have shown they can do it, and Hayden has been obviously trying to do so, but the Aussies just need to realise that they can't bash their way to 400+ plus against good bowlers.

Dont overreact.

Today has hardly been great for batting - lights have been on all day, wicket is very uneven and there's been movement in the air all day.

Added to the fact that SA have bowled straight and it was always going to be difficult.

Main problem was that Hayden, Langer and Hodge gave their wickets away yesterday.

Hmm Lee out, and Australia well and truly gone now. Anything under 100 lead for South Africa will be very good for Australia from here.

Remember what happened with McGrath and Hussey at Melboune.. Something similar will probably happen again today.

Despite him just getting out, it was a good innings from MacGill. Would have liked him to play a bit more sensibly, though. Fun to watch nonetheless :D

God none of these commentators have any idea about the heart rate monitor... He'll end up printing off his heart rate over the whole day onto a graph, and by pressing that button, it'll leave a mark on the graph, which will signal the start of an over or spell by Nel.

Superb batting by Gilly and lower order batsmen from 222/5 to 226/7 to 325/9. Congratulations to Gilly on a well timed and much needed knock. This is what makes him the greatest WK batsman ever.

Don't the South Africans watch TV? Anyone knows that you dont ever, ever give Gilchrist width. He just murders people.

What six from Gilchrist! And caught by a little kid in the stands too

Also good to see Channel 9 staying with the cricket until a wicket falls, Gilly makes his century or the end of play.

Edit: I love the roar McGrath gets every time he faces a ball.
