***Official*** South Africa in Australia

Don't think South Africa can extract any result from here except an innings win. Australia facing a big ask chasing on the last day if not.

But that leaves a draw too likely in my opinion, and that means Australia wins the series. South Africa don't want to do what Ponting did and leave them with no real choice other than a draw.

Warne bowls a massive ripper that turned 2 foot. Ponting gets the clue and brings on Mcgill
but they'd be mad to play two spinners, because the groundsman says so, right? just goes to show that if you think for yourself things can turn out ok.

I thought Ian Chappell was a little harsh on Kallis this morning. Clearly, he's a run accumulator. Chappell seems to have a real problem with anyone who doesn't play in the style that he played. This sort of thought process spills over into his thoughts on the value of coaches also - ie I didnt have one in my day, so I dont think any modern team needs one.

Hey Howard, how many wickets did Mcgill take and who were they? Don't wanna mention that do ya? :p

That was a pretty tough decision there. While there was a chance that it was hitting the stumps, it was just too tough a decision to be given out. The batsman should have got the benefit of the doubt, I reckon.

At the time I thought it was plumb...then when I saw where he was in proportion to how far the ball spun I also thought it was out. On third replay when I noticed it hit the "back" pad I realised it was not out so I don't really blame Billy there. Although it doesn't help my opinion that he's the worst umpire in the game.

Our big war was about the nature of the wicket though - not the actual performance of the players, but what the wicket offered. :) Happy new year. :p

It was turn, but very slow turn. I wasn't the only one thinkin had we loss the toss we would have been stuffed! But ignore all that Howard, it doesn't suit you
