Ricky Ponting really is one of the most hilariously inept captains in Australian history. Warne would do a much better job.
Captain obvious at his best :D

Good bloke, great knowledge, worst commentator I've ever heard. Sorry.
Don't apologise to me, apologise to Chappelli when he comes to your house and criticises the technique you use to brush your teeth. :D

He doesnt care about technique, just intent. As long as you're aggressive (like Chappelli at his zenith) then he loves ya!

This happend weeks ago. The kiwi's don't really bother with the crap most Aussies have to say. Its always blah this we are hard done by or cry here and there. It makes me sick, Lee #1 point on how he carried on today. What a ******, really fits in with the team spirit Aus have.

As opposed to the fair play modesty of, say, the greatest chokers of all.... sorry the All Blacks.

So attack the stumps when bowling and hit the bad balls for 6?? Sounds easy. Apart from the hit the ball part :p

Maybe if he saw me in the nets and not out in the middle 8-)

Not only that, Chappell doesn't like players getting bogged down. Gotta keep the scoreboard ticking fellas :p

I must say I was surprised that Shane Warne didnt get more of a bowl today. Although I think the ball hardly turned for him, I thought he was fairly dangerous. Most of his deliveries skidded onto the batsmen- two caught the inside edge of Kallis' bat; while one struck his pad while sweeping (nauturally, a raucous appeal followed)

In relation to MacGill, I think he'll need some wickets in the remainder of this match if he wants to tour South Africa in March. He's averaging in the 60's so far in this series and, as mentioned above, is not held in the highest regard by the hierarchy. I don't think they'll need too many reasons to leave him at home, to be replaced by someone who turns the ball back into the righthander (Cullen or Casson).
possibly but i'd be surprised if he didn't go to SA, after all we can all agree since the super-test the way Ponting has used him has been a bit unfair.

Anyone else think Macgill is looking a bit stupid after his boasts in the press pre MCG?

I wonder if Bracken would get straight back into the team if he came out with conmments like Macgill?

"I could have made the difference on the first day at Sydney when the ball was swinging all over"

"You need bowlers who are going to be economical not conceding 4 runs an over"

"When are people going to realise you need 3 front line seamers in case you have to bowl first".

MacGill had an average day and Warne was no better.

Unfortunately for MacGill, Warne will always get the pick of the conditions and no better example of this was in the last test. MacGill was only bowled when everyone else had been tried once and more often twice or more.

Why on earth was Hussey tried before MacGill? Even on a seamers paradise I'd think you'd turn to Hussey ahead of MacGill only when the opposition is about 3/600 and you've tried everything.

Do you not think it's out of order for him to say these things in public though ? I see it is an implicit criticism of his team mates and the selectors.

I do believe he was hard done by to be left out in Perth especially after his earlier performances but there have been many cicketers treated Harsher and they've never felt the need to plead their case in the press.

Saying that, what a beauty by Lee just now
