He was talking about how spinners get to bowl on dry, 5th day wickets but seamers never get a damp wicket to start on day one because play gets delayed, and he was giving examples of spinners who get an advantage from the conditions late in a match. He said "Kumble, Muralitharan, and even that Ashley Giles, who's not a very good bowler".

It was classic.

Seriously Symonds looks at sea at test level. Amazingly how many people (Queenslanders mainly) believed he should have been in the Australian test side. Not test standard.

I've always been a fan of Martyn's bowling. Thought he looked a handy partnership breaker when needed. His batting certainly warrants a place in the team ahead of Pup, Symmo and others at the moment.
