The Cricket Show's been good so far. I loved the piece on Boxing Day and the Hussey tribute's not bad either.

50, well played Skipper he has looked in top form all summer, if he doesn't get a hundred today he should slap himself.

Well made 50 by Ponting. Expensive drop by Nel, Punter will probably go on to make 100. Jaques will possibly get another chance in the second innings to score some runs.

Anyway, it's disappointing to see Jaques get out so early, but from Cricinfo Hayden and Ponting seem to have played well. Ponting has scored a half century in all 3 of his innings this series.

By the way, is Boje injured? Cricinfo says he's bowled 1.1 overs, but none of the other South African bowlers seem to have finished his over.

nah he's fielding, Smith just hasn't bowled him much
Then how come it says he's bowled 1.1 overs? Cricinfo mistake, or did he bowl a 7 ball over?

i didn't see it live but Kallis had an injury during an over & Boje came on & bowled out a ball for him.

50 for Matt, i'm starting to like the new style of Haydens batting since the Oval.
I don't. It's too slow. Yes, he's still there and scoring runs, but surely he could still be there and score a bit faster

well the bowling has been good, the old Hayden would have tried to hit that & would have probably gotten out. It may be boring but Matt is one of my favourites in the team & i want him to be in their for as long as possible so if batting like this will help that so be it i say...

But the team comes before the player. Just like at the Oval when Hayden played oh so slowly, if he'd sped up just a bit, we could have had more time to win. Unless, that is, Ponting delayed the declaration so Hayden could make his 200 :p

He's simply given up trying to score quickly all the time when there isn't enough opportunities to do so. There's nothing wrong with 65 off 177, after all. It was an excellent innings under the circumstances, on a difficult wicket early on, and he sped up after lunch.

Criticising him under the circumstances for scoring too slowly is just... well, ridiculous.

Guess I was wrong then. I just read the Cricinfo bulletin about the damp spots on the pitch so I see what Aussie's getting at now.

Anyway, 2/162 at tea isn't bad at all. Ponting seems set to make himself 100, and hopefully Hodge and Hussey can support him well after tea. Just folowing from Cricinfo here, but Pollock seemed to be bowling well, it looked like he beat the bat a few times.

LMAO @ Tony Greig taking a swipe at Giles' bowling ability. That was one of the funniest thing I've heard by a commentator in a while..
