if I was stokes I'd be ****ing fuming.

I'd say something like "look, I'm nowhere near as talented as any of you batsman. But I just made it look ****ing easy. You should all be ****ing ashamed. Embarrasing"
Honestly they played dumb as hell could be the difference between a 50-100 lead and a 200’plus lead

This is still pretty evenly poised though in my opinion. If aus can get the next two wickets before the lead gets below 100 Englands tail will probably struggle against the short stuff as well

getting through the overs these days just keeps getting more ridiculous. Yesterday you had those distractions and rain. Today you got Lyon gone a lot of the day and England hitting to all parts of the boundary
It create a lot of problems in these conditions.

That’s what I’m saying they have to judge the over rates because of things like this. You look at both teams bowling today they didn’t try to delay the bowling at any time, some days you just can’t get through the overs.

The obvious retort to this would be "playing the way we did was your idea."

England ahead purely because of Lyon injury

if you play in a seam friendly environment then the over rate requirement should be different to a spin dominated one. Basically it’s just looking after India as usual…

could be massive for the whole series. Certainly didn’t look like he’d bowl again in the game and Leeds surely unlikely too.

PS Virtually every other bar in Turkey has the cricket on!!

We were really poor yesterday and rightly England took some stick.

Make no mistake, if we'd have had a bad day today, The Ashes would have been all but over.

The top 3 were all under big pressure and fair play to them, they did the business. The Aussie seamers, apart from Cummins were despatched to all parts.

But you can't ignore the 3 dismissals to the bouncers, completely brainless cricket, completely needless, particularly with Lyon injured.

You have to adapt in test cricket, there's a time to attack and a time to play more cautiously.

Playing a more cautious way can be an attacking move, it can give you the best chance of winning.

A positive day, but could have been so much better.

Aus could take two quickly tomorrow morning and still end up with a decent lead now that England has a poor tail but Lyon was going to be pivotal in the final day. This pitch will offer some turn later on but it won't be a meme wicket like Indore where a part time spinner could get wickets so they'll miss a quality spinner

Australia are lucky they are still in the game given the conditions they got to bat yesterday and bowl today. Yesterday was exactly the kind of day that Broad knocks them over for 170.

Bairstow wasn't hooking the ball with 3 men out on the boundary waiting for the miscue ball after ball. He played himself in and by and large played proper cricket shots.
That's exactly what he has doing haha, got 70% of his runs doing that.
