*Official* Second Test at Lord's

I don't agree with this. I think Pattinson and Agar have left room for improvement in the bowling department. Perhaps they were right selections via correct procedure, but this game could have been a lot different if Australia had a good bowler in place of Pattinson to add pressure after Harris' spell.
Pattinson is already a quality bowler. He hasn't been himself at all in this match. In any case, it isn't the bowling that's the problem. The bowling is actually good, and there is quality depth too. If we had decent batsmen I actually think we would be a very solid team that could compete with anyone.

yeah i dont think it will either. There's hardly any new talent coming through, so I guess the best chance is for these current batsmen to improve into something decent, but who even knows whether that's gonna happen. It's pretty 50/50 for me atm.
It is a shame because Australia had so many very good batsmen who didn't quite get the chance at Test level. David Hussey, Stuart Law, Brad Hodge, Lehmann just to name a few would have all been welcome.

If Kerrigan was Australian you would probably be saying what a fantastic bowler he is going to be.
Any performances in a comp where a retiree is knocking up double tons and the 5th choice NSW paceman has been taking wickets for fun have to be taken with a grain of salt

yeah it all just goes back to the 'lost generation' point. For whatever reason, there has been an absolute void of quality batsmen in the shane watson age category. The result is you are relying on inexperienced younger batsmen to fill up all the spaces, and as we have showed, the results are pretty poor.

Love the Fox special on Lords, a zoom in on the honour board revealed the name Ajit Agarkar, then the narrator said "your name is there forever"

He is averaging 40 this year whilst the third choice is averaging 85 in second division

Pretty bare cupboard after Swann
Simon Kerrigan (44 @ 18 this year) and Danny Briggs (24 @ 33) are way ahead of Tredwell for test matches.

Year sure, ok. Does not change the fact you just totally ignored him then to suit your argument. Is easily ahead of Agar in his development as a cricketer.

Disagree. I think your logic devolves into saying that training time = improvement in quality. I think if you train smart and are committed, you can work on both aspects of the game.
Pattinson averages 24 in Tests, who the hell are you picking in his place?
