Fantastic performance guys :)

Sajith was fantastic in the first innings with a monumental knock, ony to get out just short of a hundred. really held us together though. Hoy and Rose both did well down the bottom of the order.

Hoy got a couple of wickets in their first but Weber was mezmorising, easily his best dev league spell ever, absolutley brilliant :) that brilliance put us nearly 200 runs in front too and put us in a winning position.

to our credit though we stuck at it and applied ourselves with the bat again - Sajith and Feeney put on 87 for the first wicket before Goff, Myself, Reuben, Cunningham and Weber (the man who couldn't do any wrong) putting the game out of reach for black.

The bowlers did the rest - the main 4 taking 2 or 3 each to wrap the match up :)

Very impressive win first up but we dont want to get ****y, a long way to go in the season and i think that we still have alot of improving to do - particularly with the bat. Fantastic win though :D :D :D
Was a good win, the fielding is a bit of a worry thou 8 dropped catches with Josy dropped about 5 times in the first innings

Couple of good games there to start the season off, good to see.

Full credit to those young Colts, really showing the guts and a desire to win that will see them go well this year.

Congratulations also to Green, showed alot of class there.

We lost in that in our batting which, apart from Dobson in the first innings and, to a lesser extent, Dauth in the second, was quite dreadful and the bowlers and fielders being so damn unwilling to step up and support Watt and Kennett in the last innings.

Gutted. All I can say.
The rest of the bowlers didn't really get much of a bowl in the 2nd innings, but we were probably somewhat to blame for the partnership between Malthus-Howell and Jasotharan, that got them back into the game.

Even though we lost the game we should look at the postives that came out of the game, we kind of solved the opening batting problem, Dobson and Moerk batted well together. Watt, Kennett, Nayak and myself all hit some form with the ball.

On we will all bonce back from this loss and show the other teams what we are really made of.

Go Reds

*still stricken by grief*

That knee injury.. when I fell to my knees after Kyle hit the winning run and cried.. for the end of innocence, the darkness of man's heart and the fall through the air of a wise, true friend called Piggy.. :(

Bad Luck Blakcs.... Showing that weve still got a hell of improving to go before we can match up against the sides of this season. We were good last year but we have lost a few core players from that squad so its time for everyone to step up and show the competiton what we can do.

When I get a bowl, you know things arent going our way. Pretty poor effort overall, besides our last innings attempt at saving the match, and I presume some changes will be made for our next game.

just try not to think too much about the approx 35 catches you dropped in 4d last season...
I've got an idea for the main XI, let's replace Hakon with a batsman, and not play a keeper, that'll improve our chances for sure  :@

not an appropriate thing to say.
He did something like that for the CWXI, so I'd say it's a perfectly fair prediction - well, it would have been, had Bugs not posted before him :p- but it's one that I'd have thought would be quite accurate.
