We lost in that in our batting which, apart from Dobson in the first innings and, to a lesser extent, Dauth in the second, was quite dreadful and the bowlers and fielders being so damn unwilling to step up and support Watt and Kennett in the last innings.

Gutted. All I can say.

Well, we can't say we didn't have our chances.
Don't know what else to say really, unlucky guys.
Unlucky? As you said, you had your chances. Luck has nothing to do with fielding capabilities!

It was a great game, played in great spirit by both teams, too. Proud of the boys. Lots to work on, still, but we pulled through. Promising from the bowling point of view, with every one of our bowlers picking up a wicket in every innings they were given the ball - even Tucker, with his one over before the end of play in a session!

Brilliant show from Wright and Thomas at the end. Had me chewing my lip off, they did.

EDIT: Was great fun seeing Nayak vs. Nayak. :)

Marc Robbins drops 3 catches and costs his side the game. :D

Loving the strife in the Black and Red camp.
I lost it as much(more) than Marc did, I dropped the first last wicket catch :(

We're not in strife, we just messed up a match, not the greatest way to start the season, but we'll bounce back I'm sure.

What strife? No strife in the Red camp. We're closer than ever, methinks, and we have top bowlers. We just can't bat

To be fair, Kyle top edged one in his last stand that fell inbetween (might have gone for 6 actually)

Well, you lost a game you should have won, a) because of the dropped catches, and b) because you played an incredibly inexperienced side.
Oh, you mean that kind of strife..

It was one terrible performance, lets not get too far ahead of ourselves.

We don't have a really experienced squad. Look at the bowlers as an example. Kennett and Watt, then me. Then there's Cameron, Borcich, Tharmi and Nayak, none of whom have played a huge amount of Development league cricket

That's not strife.

Great going Green! Nice team effort there. Definitely pleased personally though would have liked more wickets but Tarick was too much in the first innings. That's good though.

just try not to think too much about the approx 35 catches you dropped in 4d last season...

Sorry Tarick, but that's not happening. My prediction is that as soon as he sees he isn't in the team today he's going to spit the dummy out and retire in a big sulk.

not an appropriate thing to say.

Fantastic performance guys :)

Sajith was fantastic in the first innings with a monumental knock, ony to get out just short of a hundred. really held us together though. Hoy and Rose both did well down the bottom of the order.

Hoy got a couple of wickets in their first but Weber was mezmorising, easily his best dev league spell ever, absolutley brilliant :) that brilliance put us nearly 200 runs in front too and put us in a winning position.

to our credit though we stuck at it and applied ourselves with the bat again - Sajith and Feeney put on 87 for the first wicket before Goff, Myself, Reuben, Cunningham and Weber (the man who couldn't do any wrong) putting the game out of reach for black.

The bowlers did the rest - the main 4 taking 2 or 3 each to wrap the match up :)

Very impressive win first up but we dont want to get ****y, a long way to go in the season and i think that we still have alot of improving to do - particularly with the bat. Fantastic win though :D :D :D
