Incidentally, TNA are pathetic sometimes. Watching Lockdown ATM, can't believe they booked Road Dogg vs Billy Gunn on a PPV almost ten years after they were interesting. The only reason anyone cares about either of these guys is because they were in DX, yet TNA always tries so hard to distance themselves from WWE for fear of being compared and seen as inferior. There were even guys throwing the DX 'X' in the crowd.

If they're so desperate to crap on everything WWE do, then why push two guys who are only over because they were WWE guys ten years ago? And why have Shark Boy copy a WWE-exclusive gimmick? So many pathetic attempts at running down WWE going around. That's what brought down WCW and ECW in part, so they should be careful.
i find TNA really boring. Was really excited to watch it on FOX8 and thought it was some massive letdown.

I stopped watching wrestling when WCW shut down. Never liked WWF/E getting back into wrestling with TNA now.

Lockdown looked really sweet.

Benjamin's never going to be a good face because he's awful on the mic.

He can just do the chicken**** heel schtick and get over like millions of heels before him. It's a shame, really. He's so good in the ring, but he's never going to get anywhere.
Yeah he's in desperate need of a personality transplant and he's got a terrible look. Looks too dopey to be a proper heel and isn't charismatic enough to pull of the goofball persona. Same goes with his mate Haas.

*Sigh* Team Angle did rule for a while though.

Shelton would benefit hugely from a proper manager, and by proper manager I mean a Jimmy Hart, Bobby Heenan, Freddie Blassie etc. Seems like there haven't been any great managers for ages now, when there was loads 15-20 years ago, Paul Bearer, Mr. Fuji. Sherri, etc. Let them do the talking and let Shelton do his thing.

Also, I may have missed something 'cause I hadn't seen Raw since the Ric Flair episode, but since when has Jericho been a heel? Totally confused me last night.

Y2J isn't a heel yet, but they've been teasing a turn for ages.

Just watched last night's Raw myself, pretty impressed. Y2J being the Guest Ref for HBK-Batista at Backlash was a nice surprise, adds some interest for sure. Also intrigued by the prospect of another King of the Ring tournament, all in one night, next week. I'd imagine in terms of participants we'll see a few big names and some midcarders - they've got loads of main eventers on the graphic on WWE.com, but in the article it only mentions a few guys. It's tri-branded, so I would imagine we'll get something like:

HBK vs Shelton Benjamin
Big Show vs Umaga
CM Punk vs Batista
Mr. Kennedy vs Finlay
MVP vs Festus
Mark Henry vs Y2J

Batista and HBK cost each other their matches via interference, meaning Shelton and Punk advance. Kennedy beats Finlay, MVP cheats to beat the unpinned Festus, Y2J beats Henry in heel-ish fashion, and Big Show beats Umaga. Then we get:

Shelton Benjamin vs Y2J vs CM Punk
Mr. Kennedy vs MVP vs Big Show

Y2J wins the first one, again in heel-ish fashion, over Punk, and Kennedy wins the second Triple Threat Semi-Final after teaming up with MVP to take down Show, and then turning on him.

Y2J vs Kennedy in the final, an interesting tweener vs tweener match-up, which Kennedy eventually wins. Ta-da, Kennedy has the push they've been trying to give him for ages, gets put over by an established talent, and we have a ready-made Intercontinental Champion vs King of the Ring feud.

Seriously, I should book for WWE.

TNA Lockdown was absolutely awesome. Loved every minute of it, especially the Team Cage vs Team Tomko match and ofcourse the X Division match at the start. Samoa Joe vs Kurt Angle was really well done too. For in ring action, you can't beat TNA. WWE though has been a lot better lately and really offers all round entertainment.

Seems like Paul Bearer was the last good one. IMO, lack of proper managers just stinks of budget cuts.

That's not bad. I think Jericho is a possible winner of the King of the Ring as well. Considering they gave it to a very experienced Booker T last year, they may as well complete Jericho's heel transformation and give him King of the Ring. It would add so much to his character as well, since ofcourse he was the self proclaimed 'King of the World' back in around 2002 - 2003.

yea, team angle sure was great in its prime especially at Wrestlemania XIX where they retained the tag titles, however i really marked out for the match last year at One Night Stand (Hardy's v Team Angle)...its been one of my favourite tag team matches atleast...shame to see Haas's talent go to waste on Heat, with the whole mask thing going on which is pathetic, and he actually jobbed to that has-been Hacksaw Duggan last week, i can't belive it. Would sure love a reunion between Haas and Benjamin.

I switched on ECW for the first time in a while...Joey Styles isn't there??? What sort of joke is that, I know the real EC F'N W died a long time ago, but with Joey gone its jus WWE Heat with a different name. Punk needs to get up n off of there and onto RAW full-time.

It's been Heat with a different name for a while. Although strangely, it actually tends to provide some very good matches from time to time, probably more frequently than RAW or SmackDown in terms of percentages. Punk vs Miz recently was good, as was Shelton vs Carlito.

Joey Styles' disappearance is a shame, but only because he and Tazz had such great chemistry, and because the other announce teams are so poor. I like King and JR when it comes to the big moments - you wouldn't want anyone other than JR commentating on a WWE title change - but JR just can't speak English (someone should tell him that "dehabilitating" isn't a word), and King falls to pieces when the Divas turn up. Which, ironically is the opposite of what everyone else does given how dire most of them are.

JBL needs to get back behind the desk, he was a genius. He and Cole made SmackDown infinitely more interesting. Nowadays it's just Cole burying Coach for two hours.

King as a face commentator is terrible. When he was full fledged asshole heel he was a quality foil for JR, but now he's just stale and boring.

Good lord I cringe whenever there's a diva on screen and King does his best dirty old man impression. Give him back his bite or get rid.

Nah, the whole idea of a heel colour commentator is just outdated. That's one of the reasons for the Coach being fail on Smackdown. The other reason is that he's just made of phail.

Coach sucks because he has no charisma. A good and witty heel commentator is worth his weight in gold. Lawler can pull it off if they let him.

Right, I'm bored so I'm following up on the suggestion of a "Battle of the Finishers". Although after the middle of next week I won't have internet for a while, so someone will have to volunteer to continue it for me after a certain point. I guess we can go with 64 different finishers, as with the Battle of the Wrestlers. Here's a few suggestions to begin with, taken from a "Favourite Finishers" thread in a Facebook group, complete with a description (either taken from Wikipedia or made up by me :D ) and the name of their architect:

Pearl River Plunge - sitout double underhook powerbomb; Ahmed Johnson
Spear/Gore - Goldberg, Rhino, Edge, Bobby Lashley
RKO - jumping cutter; Randy Orton
Stone Cold Stunner sitout three-quarter facelock jawbreaker, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin

Just to get us started. Be aware that I could pull out of organising this at any time, as I'm leaving France in 10 days and I don't know when my internet access will end.

I guess we should limit this to American promotions, because there are tons of Puroresu moves we could list here, and they all quite pwn most of the American moves handsomely. I'd vote for the Tiger Driver '91 or the Reverse DVD over any of the moves listed here, tbh.

Also, I know you like Edge, Matt, but the moves listed there aren't even his finishers.
