Goodbye Smackdown then, I guess
Really? The end of smackdown!Buddhmaster said:From what i've heard, ECW will be taking the Smackdown timeslot, ending the roster split. Could be good, more then likely will end up like XFL, horrible.
Not from what I've heard. ECW's head of booking will be Paul Heyman and Tommy Dreamer, who both (Heyman primarily) run WWE's developmental league, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). OVW will be transitioned into ECW with Heyman having complete control. The new ECW will be a mixture of WWE's developmental talent such as CM Punk, Brent Albright etc. alongside guys like RVD, Axl Rotten and other ECW alumni. From what I've heard, they'll be a lot of ECW showcase type matches on Raw and Smackdown as well as a weekly hour long show on television featuring ECW and developmental talent.Buddhmaster said:From what i've heard, ECW will be taking the Smackdown timeslot, ending the roster split. Welcome aboard. Read over the thread, most of us are pretty long time, 'smart' wrestling fans and you'll find that there's plenty of intelligent discussion here with a lot of great posters such as duffer, shaka and buddhmaster.DanielFullard said:Oh I have just found this thread. I am a huge wrestling fan. As usual Ill be up until 4am today watching RAW and of course next week is a PPV Sunday which I always love.
Glad we have a thread for Pro-Wrestling
Yep agreed there are way too many superstars for just oen show. It will be interesting to see how much T.V time ECW will get.masterblaster said:Not from what I've heard. So Raw and Smackdown will still remain, as they should. WWE has too many people for just one show.
Doubt it. WWE always have the conservative approach.oz_fan said:Yep agreed there are way too many superstars for just oen show. It will be interesting to see how much T.V time ECW will get.
Do you think the WWE will allow Heyman to book in his 'hardcore' style?

This hatred I have towards wrestling is just because I was so much into it during the old days when it was "real wrestling." There were guys like Bret Hart, Owen Hart, Classical Undertaker, Tatanka, Lex Luger, Yokozuna....and so on. When these guys left or were fired, there has been nobody to replace them. Even the storylines back in the day was so good but now it just doesn't make sense. I hate this whole "attitude" era and what it brought. Wrestling used to be something I could watch as a kid along with my whole family but now I don't think its fit for 10 year olds to watch.
Welcome to the thread mate, always good to have a more active wrestling thread.DanielFullard said:Oh I have just found this thread. I am a huge wrestling fan. As usual Ill be up until 4am today watching RAW and of course next week is a PPV Sunday which I always love.
