haha would be awesome if Lawler smashes Miz down, but read somewhere that they are building to a potential Lawler/Cole faceoff at Mania, so I am guessing it will be another match ending like the title match on RAW, leading into some sort of match at Mania.

edit: also, When The Rock started doing the whole "There's one man" thing building up to Cena, I knew it was going to be Cena that he was calling out but I can't have been the only one who hoped he was going to go after the streak. That would have been one way to make everyone forget about HBK Taker.

The only guy in WWE who knows how to make each return from time off memorable. It was so awesome when he came back and dissed Coach and made Eugene do a People's Elbow on him. Shame that he did not return sooner when Jericho was still there. Only 2 in WWE with awesome mic skills.

Cena can suck it.

Brilliant angle on Smackdown this week. Teddy Long comes back, it's revealed that Dolph Ziggler attacked Teddy Long and Dolph Ziggler is now fired and there is now an empty spot in the Smackdown Elimination Chamber match. I wonder how Christian is doing these days? Surely he's close to coming back.

Considering getting back into this. Good time? Who are the big players now? Apparently they've bled a fair few new guys onto the scene. General thoughts on the up and comers?

Lots of new guys on the scene now. The Rock is back, Booker T is back as a commentator on Smackdown, Kevin Nash is back. The big players at the moment apart from John Cena and Randy Orton are Alberto Del Rio (Dos Caras Jr in Mexico, a truly excellent talent), The Miz (who has grown leaps and bounds) Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson), Wade Barrett, CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler (another one who has grown leaps and bounds), Drew McIntyre and Sheamus.

The emphasis on the young guys has been great and some great young stars have burst onto the scene this year. Add to that, The Rock is back and blew the roof off on Raw this past week and you've got a potentially fantastic looking Wrestlemania.

The Miz is the WWE Champion, Edge is the World Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Bryan is the United States Champion and Kofi Kingston is the Intercontinental Champion. Alberto Del Rio won the Royal Rumble this year and will be in the World Heavyweight Championship match at Wrestlemania.

Yeah, as MB has alluded to, there is new talent pretty much everywhere you look. The result of this being that the established stars are actually made somehow more interesting too. When you combine this with the fact that the Rock has just made his comeback and the Road to Wrestlemania period is (imo) the best part of the wrestling calender throughout the entire year I would say it is a fantastic time to get back into it. I've been saying for months that the E is better than it has been for a long time, but it just keeps getting better. Last week's RAW was one of the best shows all in all I've ever seen I'd say.

Pretty awesome Smackdown

The geek in me hopes they don't try and pass this off as an eleventh reign for Edge though

Smackdown was good. Leaves the door open for a mystery participant in the Smackdown Elimination Chamber too.

Just watching January 4th TNA Impact - WWE needs to get AJ Styles - he does not get the exposure he deserves when performing in TNA - he is truly an outstanding performer. Whereas Kurt Angle is ageing, injury prone and has had his stint in WWE, Styles has never had his shot and it'd be good to see him square off against the likes of Triple H or John Cena in front of tens of thousands in arena and millions at home...

Christian strongly tipped to be in the Chamber. Not convinced, but.
I called The Rock showing up on Raw this week before he did and I'll go with my feeling and back Christian to show up in the Elimination Chamber PPV. That being said, I don't think he'll win but I do think he'll be in the match.

Well he wasn't in the Elimination Chamber match but who cares. He's back!

A triple threat match between Edge, Christian and Alberto Del Rio at Wrestlemania. Make it happen WWE!

So 2-21-11 was The Undertaker after all. How lame. There went my theory of it being Sting. Still it was great to see The Undertaker back and it was great to see Triple H back too.

The crowd popped huge for both of them and I can certainly get behind a Wrestlemania match between the two. Add Shawn Michaels as a special referee and you have a winner.

Enjoyed Cena's old school rap on The Rock. It looks like they are getting a little more liberal with the PG rating, which is fine. A little emotion or language isn't bad. As long as they don't go overboard like TNA then it's fine.

I'm quite fine with the PG rating as I can now watch wrestling without something so horribly offensive or cringeworthy coming on the television but if they let the wrestlers be themselves a bit more then I'm all for that.

Yeah I agree entirely, particularly with regard to the PG status. Shame Rock wasn't on RAW again, though I gather nobody expected him to be. Wonder what this means for his "never going away again" thing though....hmmm. I wonder how they are going to fit a Rock/Cena thing in at WM though with Cena already penned in for the WWE title match with the Miz...
