Hmmm. I was never much a fan of Jarrett as a booker or creative writer or whatever, but compared to what's going on now he looks like an absolute god. Feel a bit sorry for him as well, as what is in my eyes anyway, his company is being dragged down the drain by a bunch of moronic egomaniacs who think their failed ideas of a decade ago have suddenly become a lot more likely to succeed.
I thought creatively Jeff Jarrett was great. Sure he kept himself on as champion a bit longer than people wanted but he was the guy who knew how to get guys like AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and Christopher Daniels over.

Jarrett also always gave the ball to the younger guys like Eric Young, Robert Roode, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin. These guys have hardly been seen on TV ever since Hogan and Bischoff have arrived. Instead we have Orlando Jordan, The Nasty Boys, Sean Waltman and Scott Hall stinking up the place. I too feel sorry for Jeff Jarrett. TNA is his company and always will be. I can't imagine how I'd be feeling if my creation was to be completely taken over by a bunch of idiots.

It's sad to see what TNA have become. For a while they were making some very compelling television. I think wrestling fans on the whole don't really despise WWE or really love TNA, they just want some competition back in the wrestling industry. For the sake of competition alone I hope TNA becomes successful. I can't say I agree with the direction they are going in though.
Yeah, two hot promotions would be awesome but I really don't think it will happen. In fact, I think Vince will own TNA's tapes in a few years.

It must be said though trying to compete with WWE during their build up to Wrestlemania is a tough ask. I can see Impact on Monday's getting completely destroyed in the ratings.

Yeah, strange timing. Even when WCW were on top they never made much of a fuss about anything in March. And the second Monday Impact will go head to head with Stone Cold as guest host. TNA would have been better saving this for later in the year, ideally the post-Summerslam months which is when WWE tends to be at its weakest. But they were too impatient.

I guess their reasoning could've been that during this build up to Wrestlemania, that's when most wrestling fans watch and when most other people catch the wrestling bug and give it a go on television. They must be thinking about attracting those groups of people to watch Impact and are trying to capitalise when there is a huge audience viewing wrestling on television. The problem is, I doubt anybody is going to give Impact a go and most people will tune in to Raw.

To be fair, though Jarrett got them over to a certain point, it was his failure to get them over any further and make them actual stars in their own right which held TNA back. I accept that something big needed (needs) to be done in order for them to turn that final corner and really compete, but the way things are going about at the moment are an absolute sham

Was watching some 90's RAW and remembered "The Nation" **** I loved Farooq, Ahmed, D'Lo and Rocky. That was a badass stable.

WWE has come to terms on the release of WWE Superstar Charlie Haas as of today, February 28, 2010. We wish Charlie Haas the best in all future endeavors.
Haha, didn't even realise he was still on the roster, so this comes as no surprise. Never been a fan of Haas, but his comedy character parody persona that he used the last few times I can remember seeing him on TV were great.

In terms of matches, Raw was meh. But in terms of angles ad building to Mania, it was once again off the charts. Thoroughly expecting the best Mania ever. For those not keeping score, here's what we've got:

Confirmed
Taker V HBK
Jericho V Edge
Batista V Cena
Vince V Bret
MITB (Christian, Kane, Ziggler, MVP, Swagger, Shelton, 2 mor)

Likely
Rey Rey V CM Punk
Triple H V Sheamus

So that still leaves us the US/IC/tag titles to fill out - sure they won't all be featured but one might well be. Can't see Miz/Morrison/McIntyre being left off the show and none of them will be in MITB so it will be interesting to see where we go. Would love to see a Miz-Bryan match even though it's unlikely. And maybe Morrison-R-truth-McIntyre? dunno

Also, hope Kofi gets in MITB. Mania is gonna be off the charts. I'm hyped.

Yeah agree, really annoyed me to see several matches which lasted under a minute, but the rest of the show was great. Really shaping things up nicely.

Certainly looking like a stacked card. I imagine we'll get Punk vs Rey and HHH vs Sheamus, but other than that I don't imagine we will get any other singles matches, the card is already cluttered with them. So I think we'll either see some sort of tag team or battle royal match for one of the titles which hasn't yet been on the card. As Big Show is probably still considered one of the E's biggest stars and the Miz is betting a big push at the moment I find it hard to imagine they will be left off the card. My pick is for them to defend the tag team titles against Morrison and R-Truth maybe, with Bryan Daniel getting involved somehow.

On a side note, does anyone know what has happened to JR? I gather he has not been on the road calling shows etc... for a while now.

It's his Bell's Palsy

RE The Miz - I'd rather he was in a singles match as there are no credible face challengers for the tag belts, but as long as he's there, I'm happy. Hope we don't get a divas match tbh.

Oh dear, sad times, hope he is back soon.

With regards to the Miz, I would rather see him in a singles match, but I think it's really unlikely. When there are already so many singles matches on the card, with more to then be added, I don't think the E would proceed with such a lack of variation. A think a tag team match always benefits a card and just adds something a bit different, was great back in the day how the opening bout would often be the Dudleyz or Too Cool or someone to start the show imo. Failing that, a fatal four way or triple threat for the US title is probably our best bet.

As for the Divas match, I think it's inevitable, Vince seems to love to put it on just before the main event, which tbf isn't a bad idea, because it sure as hell makes sure the crowd isn't too burned out for the big match. It'll probably some match that will involve as many of the Divas from the entire roster as possible in some sort of battle royal or lumberjack match for the womens/divas title I would have thought. Just have to pray that it is kept short or there is some comedy involvement from someone like Santino. That said, as the rest of the card is stacked, I think I can excuse the E if they put something like this on the card, just this once.
