If Sting loses it will be horrible.

As for it not being Sting v Taker. I suspect a lot of that was down to the fact that (presumably) the WWE was not sure until recent that Taker would wrestle at all, and given the draw that Sting has they wanted to build his involvement over a course of several months.

Also, I suspect the fact that they wanted to give Sting an opponent who wasn't almost entirely clapped (given that Sting is pretty over the hill himself) out played in their decision as well.

Yeah that seems fair. It is weird however that they've gone with Taker vs Wyatt given how the streak's broken- giving a weird feeling to the match. If Taker loses, his Wrestlemania record goes to 21-2, which is by no means as epic as 21-1 but gets Wyatt over- but ****s like Rikishi on the streak. If Taker wins, it would be a nice pre-retirement win for Taker but wouldn't help Wyatt unless the match is an epic- which I can't trust Wyatt to do (he's no Punk, Michaels or HHH in the ring). Seems like an awkwardly worked match.

I don't think Taker's win/loss score really comes into it anymore tbh. The streak is done and that's that, the most interesting thing now is simply seeing Taker in the ring, which is basically becoming as mythical and elusive as the streak itself ever was.

I suspect he'll win, but I'm not really sure what he'll gain from it.

Hmm, I don't know, the streak is gone, but at the risk of sounding a little nitpicky, Wyatt beating Taker at WM too will retroactively end up making Lesnar's win a bit less special I guess. I agree with andmark that it's a weird match. Not sure how much it'll really put Wyatt over.

Ah, yeah, tbf I hadn't thought of it like that.

RE: Whether it will put Wyatt over or not - I guess the way the bookers see it is "He's working a program at the biggest PPV of the year against someone who is a bona fide ATG - how can he not come out of this with his profile enhanced?"

I can see the logic there, but realistically if Wyatt is to go anywhere he needs to start getting in the main event picture sometime soon, and for that he'll need momentum. Him losing to Undertaker (assuming he does) isn't really going to get him there imo. Should have just beaten Cena 12 months ago tbh.

Wyatt has no business being in the ring with Taker, Cena, or anyone of that stature, never mind beating them.

I like the story though. Basically wanting to prove he's finished. Taker wins, then fights Cena to attempt to continue the redemption next year IMO. This is what I'd like rather than my prediction.

I dunno, that guy 'Vacated' was really over with the writers at that point so you can see why they kept giving him the title instead

In the right setting he was an amazing heel, even before he played up how he was Canadian etc... In ECW for instance, his character that did everything by the book in a really non-extravagant fashion used to have crowds absolutely baying for his blood. I can remember one match he had against RVD (I think it was RVD anyway), where he kept on delivering chair shots, but did it in a really...understated/boring way somehow. The crowd absolutely erupted with boos every time he laid one on.

Great technician as well.

Used to answer questions on his website message board back in 2001 well before Twitter etc. Was a gun.

Apparently HHH called out 'the kids on the internet who think they know the business' on Raw last night. Love it
