Match over. Well I hope at least some of the boys got something out of this warmup. Oof, as terrible as Wagner's form is, I'd still take him any day of the week over 2-spinners.

Wagner has shown an ability to chip out a set batsman with the old ball. Sure, he bowls a lot of pies, but he also bowls at the batsman, with a good bouncer. He challenges the batsman to take him on and he can bowl to a plan / follow orders. He'll try and make something happen.

that's a really simplistic way of looking at it though. do you really think siddle bowled to his potential for a start?
siddle on form is a better bowler than wagner, but if wagner bowls to his best or even just "normal" good form then he will bowl better than siddle did.

yeah but Siddle's style of bowling (line and length, no pies) might be less effective than what we've seen from Wagner in the last year or so (plenty of pies, weird trolling 120kph bouncers, sucker balls outside off, the odd beaut, and some good aggressive spells etc).

haha.....I would be surprised if the actual number of posts by the Pakistan community in this thread was 7 yetYep and that's with about 7 posts from the Pakistan posting community. Stick around and we'll get this thing up to a 100 pages by the time the toss is flipped on Sunday.
At this rate by the end of the 3rd test we might be touching 350 pages I reckon with about 2 pages in total by the pakistan community

No question. But... just maybe... in UAE conditions, against this Pakistan side, Wagner may be a better option than Siddle. Just maybe.

If we assume that Wagner is as effective as Siddle, and that Southee is as effective as Johnson, and that our spinners and bit part bowlers are roughly as good as Aussie's, then Trent Boult makes the difference. I predict we'll bowl considerably better than Aussie did.
