'Official' Pakistan in West Indies

If he was tactically brilliant, then maybe you could understand the decision, but even that isn't true.

Make Simmons the captain.

Yes the pressure on Sammy will inevitably continue to grow while his performances are not upto an international standard. It's not good that he is keeping a much more likely matchwinner in Fidel Edwards out of the side. The issue is whether there is anyone in this WI side that can captain this side, with so few players certain of their place in the team.

In terms of tactical astuteness,Sarwan should be the man captaining this team. But we all know the WICB won't appoint him.

Decent 28-run partnership at the end between Roach and Bishoo. Still looks very short of a par score out there, pleased Ajmal for a 5-for, deserved that for his efforts yesterday.

Now how much can Roach and Rampaul trouble the top order of Pakistan with the new ball. I'm a fan of both Taufeeq and Hafeez, so I'm looking forward to seeing how they go.

Expect Hafeez to carry his good batting form into the Test Series.Hopefully he gets a big ton today that does justice to his talents.I'm not too worried about the pacers, despite the overcast conditions.Bishoo will be the only possible threat here.

I think we'll take a lead of around 100-150.

And Ah.Hafeez i love you . WAG.

Hafeez seems to play Roach really well. Even in the WC quarterfinals, played some glorious drives down the ground against him.

Oh dear.

Indecision has cost Hafeez there, an uncertain leave has clipped his bat and gone onto the stumps. Good area from Rampaul, Hafeez may consider himself a touch unfortunate. Roach looks like he's going to be a handful in these conditions, overcast and he's getting the odd one to really swing into the right-hander.

Pakistan in for a real test under these conditions. Now we will really see how good our batsmen are. Misbah has been performing well on dead pitches, so let us see how good he is.

Finally found myself a you-know-what to watch this.

Ah, Test cricket how I've missed you. :)

Have to say I'm rapidly revising my opinion of Rampaul after his WC exploits against India and recent good form. Gets excellent bounce, he's certainly not the average trundler version I remember of him.

From cricinfo :

Ravi Rampaul played for Ireland in the FP t20 in 2008 - Fact I just heard on West Indies radio. Interesting!

I wasn't aware of this either.Big loss to a talented side like Ireland.
