*Official* Pakistan in the West Indies

Pakistan made too many mistakes today. It was more of a case of Windies losing it than us winning. Won't fly against a better team.

Still, a win is a win. :)

True, Pakistan's series win so far has been far from convincing. Especially if you consider the recent form of West Indies, they just got thrashed 5-0 by South Africa and this was their 8th consecutive defeat. The batting was disappointing again, but maybe with nothing to lose tommorow they will go all out and score 300+. But the bowling was excellent.

A quote from CricInfo...
"It was, incidentally, Pakistan's first series victory in the Caribbean, but few triumphs can have felt so flat."

Couldn't agree more... after playing so well in India they haven't really impressed... West Indies just gave up.

Afridi going mental

9.6 Bradshaw to Afridi, SIX!!, fractionally short, on the hips, pulls it away over deep mid wicket, goes all the way into the crowd, that Afridi for you, 20 runs off the over!!
9.5 Bradshaw to Afridi, FOUR!!, stands there and again goes for the big one to sweeper cover, couple of bounces into the fence!!
9.4 Bradshaw to Afridi, SIX!!, comes down the track, slices it over sweeper cover, no chance for any fielder there!!
87-0 off 10

That was so infuriating, I just got back from the chippy & was looking forward to stuffing my face in front of the telly (large Donor & chips) whilst appreciating a slogfest & Afridi holes out straight away. 8-)

Much more sedate stuff now.

Whatever it takes!!!

not neccesarily, look at the sides performance in the first test against south africa.
And look at their performance in the last test.... Surely, it has more to do with the fact that they were flat tracks than anything about Lara.... Lara didn't do much at Antigua either and they still did well. It is more like their batting line up has a number of guys who are found wanting in seaming tracks.

49.6 Bradshaw to Kamran Akmal, SIX, This one is straighter and it sails
over mid-on and Akmal has ended the Pakistan innings with a fine
cameo to set a 304-run target for the West Indies
49.5 Bradshaw to Kamran Akmal, SIX, Wow again! Well over the midwicket
rope
49.4 Bradshaw to Kamran Akmal, SIX, Smash! Goes off the middle to over
deep midwicket

The third six was the best of all. Akmal's facial expression and the utter resignation in Bradshaw's eyes - summed up the West Indian approach.

There's only seven overs of spin left, plus Morton seems to have gained some confidence after the 55 in the first ODIs. Plus there's seven wickets in hand. I reckon WI will take it.

Morton's gone now, the run rate is above 10 per over, they've got 2 players there that can do it, but it should be good finding out if they do.

EDIT: And as I write that Smith goes, it's looking good for Pakistan at the moment.
