Think someone earlier in the thread suggested Abbas for the ODIs? I'm keen, though I hope he doesn't bat lower than 6.

The bigger surprise has to be Nick Kelly though. A long and very good domestic career, so congrats to him. Though if they wanted someone experienced in that age bracket (and importantly with a last-name first-name) I'm surprised it wasn't Tom Bruce.

Edit: I see Kelly is going to open the batting, so perhaps that's the reason.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
Saw this on Instagram earlier and read it briefly. Was so happy for abbas I didn't clock Kelly. I'm guessing they feel Kelly could conceivably be a WC squad backup player in 2 years? And maybe they feel there will be enough 37 year olds in that squad of Williamson goes...
