Interesting plan here with the leg slip - I always hated it when there was a fielder in there, what is normally free runs becomes dangerous. Wonder if KW will start batting on leg stump instead and look to play through square leg rather than fine.

Aha, that's 6 drops and a no-ball catch in 4 and a half innings for Nicholls. I love the guy but he is not going to get away with this **** against quality teams.

Nicholls has used up every bit of luck a batsman deserve for his career this summer. He’s been dropped 7 times this summer in 4 innings :laugh:

Do Pakistan really need to be trying funky fields? I missed a lot of the worst of it yesterday afternoon, but when you’ve dropped Nicholls 3 (?) times and Williamson twice (?) it kinda seems like the bowlers + pitch conditions are still conducive to wicket taking and basically it’s all the fielders’ fault? A harsh, Richard-esque oversimplification perhaps but this whole game has swung on catching.

im going to look on the bright side and say it's good he's scoring while also being scratchy. we'd be so ****ed if he hadn't lol

Yeah like isn’t consistently batting for a little while and then hitting one to a fielder just...the definition of bad batting? It’s not even ‘cashing in’ if you’re constantly getting yourself out the whole time.
