Pakistan splattered NZ when they were at their test cricket nadir in 2010.
were there two series during that time frame? i thought we had the final bond test, the test pakistan won then the napier test where watling played some ramps but the rain came?

Get to 500 and declare before end of today?

Rain forecast on day 5. Want to get maximum points for Wtc to give us a chance to reach the final

Nah this is rubbish.

He's one of the few middle order batsmen who never gets bogged down and is always looking to take singles and scores runs. Takes a huge amount of pressure off the Williamsons and Taylors and Watlings at the other end.

Not to mention he's scored some very good hundreds prior to this summer
Yes he has but remember he hadn't scored a fifty in like ages before the game at basin. That's when the dropped catches started. Yes he scores and he's not bad at all but I'm not convinced he's going to last batting the way he is. At some point in time the luck is going to run out. Happy for the man and for the team though.

Despite these hundreds he's probably the most vulnerable batter in this team right now. He has the experience to turn it around but watching him this season it's been sheer luck and scoring not because of skills.

Yeah, there was another right before the 2011 World Cup. In the first test, things were pretty even (300 plays 300 sorta test) until I think Wahab got on a roll and classic Pakistan-in-NZ'ed a collapse to set up a 8 or 9 wicket win. Second test at the basin, NZ got into a decent position with Pakistan 30/3 chasing 250 win on a 5th day pitch, but then Vettori did a Vettori and spun 1 ball all day before finishing with 0/35 and the match petered out to a draw.

Re: Rizwan’s keeping, I know he’s under the pump with some wild bowling but just feels like he’s missed everything challenging

What if it's bad luck that he even nicked those balls to begin with, when he might have just missed them? Or that they went towards fielders?

It's not as if he's scoring all his runs through edges to the boundary. Dude is clearly still capable of scoring runs, has a decent defense and an excellent ability to rotate the strike.

His place is secure.

wow can't remember this at all. it's very realistic. ross can't have scored any runs or it'd be in my **** bank.

2009/10 (what you’re recalling) they only played tests I think? 2010/11 they played all formats. Milne made his debut at Eden Park in the Boxing Day T20, I recall Bennett playing in the ODIs and Ryder making a century, and for some reason when I think of the tests I think of the left arm spinner...Rehman?

They were here for months lol, I think their tour was the only international cricket that home summer?

There's still a little bit of nip in this pitch I reckon, but Pakistan can't land two balls in the same place (and can't catch either)

So can anyone remember when Nasim was the (next) next Wasim Akram? I'm sure I saw the phrase used at least once.
