Black Caps do some soul searching - Newstalk ZB
Seems they have had a heart to heart meeting after the 14 losses in 15 games.

I want to make a joke but instead I'll point out he had an excellent List A strike rate in the season he was initially picked, and he was awful in ODIs. I'd be very hesitant to pick him when he's not doing anything domestically he hasn't done already.
Indeed.I blame Colin Munro. He could have done better if he had watched Daniel Flynn.
Batting in the middle to lower order. Most of Daniel Flynn's success in domestic one day cricket has come from batting up the order - he batted at three the entire 07-08 season. He's a much better one day batsmen up the order imo.I want to make a joke but instead I'll point out he had an excellent List A strike rate in the season he was initially picked, and he was awful in ODIs. Shades of Jack in The Shining there.
Maybe they should have appraoched this series with the no#1 team and tried out different ways of using power plays. so when they go to the WC theyve required some tactnical skills in when to use the flexible power playes based on different circumstances. rather than being like every other team and using the power plays in the later overs.Move McCullum back up the order.
Then move him back down
Then back up
Then back down
FFS, the grass is always greener.
But consider this: overs 1-15 are almost always powerplays. Versus 5 overs at the end when noone knows when they will be.
Moving McCullum around the order based on this one 5-over block just ****s with everyone.
Best to open with McCullum and let him cut loose for a whole 15 overs at the start and then for **** sake take the powerplay when two set batsmen are in anywhere between overs 35 and 50. People think that we need an Afridi-like batsman in that powerplay, but in reality any set international batsman should be able to find the boundary and gaps in the field when there are only 2 outside the circle.
Sick and tired of them leaving it and leaving it until we are 6 down with two new batsmen at the crease.
Kamran is ordinary with gloves for sure but I think he will be strong prospect on Subcontinent pitches....I like the fact that he is batting number 3 at least it wouldn't suck the life out of opening power play if we lose an early wicket.umar with the gloves with the gloves is a good idea IMO but the elder khatmal seems to have a strong hold on the team for some reason, even though he has been quite ordinary
Well said. Except for the last line.It takes real maturity to spot the weak links in a winning side. I for one have no confidence at all left in Kamran, and while I can see the lack of wicketkeeping options I would rather have Asad Shafique playing and Umar keeping wicket.
Interestingly, I continue to find New Zealand as favourites for this match. That greatly surprises me.
Not really, Pakistan will rest their key players because of this last match being a dead rubber and so NZ are probably favourites. Plus they have something to prove to their fans so they will be more motivated.Well said. Except for the last line.
Totally agree with this 11. It seems so obvious, yet the selectors don't seem to be able to see it. Very exciting opening combo, batting all the way down and 7 bowling options. What's not to like?Someone should kidnap the selectors and force them to play this side for the next ODI.

With only Bennett considered as well. He has been impressive before today and has actually looked like he was trying his ass off which can't be said for some of the others.

My point is that I have found NZ as favourites on betting websites, which I disagree with. Should have made that clearer. Not really, Pakistan will rest their key players because of this last match being a dead rubber and so NZ are probably favourites. I agree that Kakmal needs to be replaced by Shafiq.
If I were a betting man, and I'm not, I would never bet on Pakistan whether they were favorites or underdogs. It's cliched, but they're simply too unpredictable. My point is that I have found NZ as favourites on betting websites, which I disagree with. Should have made that clearer.
I've already bet on Pakistan to win again (at 2.04)
Unpredictable, but too good for a 2.04 against New Zealand. In the words of Andy Zaltzman, "good enough to beat anyone in the world, including themselves".If I were a betting man, and I'm not, I would never bet on Pakistan whether they were favorites or underdogs. It's cliched, but they're simply too unpredictable.
haha...I know just pointing out don;t act surprised if he starts acting like a jerk after few decent games our players are effected with this bimaari by birth.I don't care if he does heroin and sleeps with 10 hookers everynight as long as he's doing well for the team.
Wow what are the odds of you being there at that moment in time. you should have asked Shehzad to share the ganja and one of the ladiesa little off topic on Ahmed Shehzad.
Last summer I was in Pataya Thailand and there I saw an alcohol infused Ahmed Shehzad dragging himself in the night market with two questionable Thai ladies on his two sides, this is all before he has achieved any stardom.According to some reports his attitude makes a young Shoaib Akhtar look like an angel.
