Pakistan was due a collapse thank god it came an innings late hopefully they improve from here on in.No worries yet.

The only thing that bothers me after this defeat,is the fact that it would make Misbah's claim to captaincy even stronger in the World Cup.I like the guy,but making him captain for the WC would be weird.Despite his brilliant form, and his obvious intelligence as a captain,i think he's less likely to lead Pakistan to great things in the WC as compared to Afridi.

Also, changing captains a series before the WC would be stupid.Hopefully some sense prevails in Ijaz Butt's head.

Afridi or Misbah who ever captains I feel will have no bearing on how Pakistan performs in the cup if they somehow hit a good patch they would end up doing well even under Adnan Akmal's captaincy also a part of me wish Afridi does not end his career as a world cup winning captain.Having a ball biter, pitch dancer being spoken in the same breath as Imran Khan makes me feel unhappy.

On the other hand if Afridi does win the cup, then he may start thinking about retirement:thumbup:, otherwise he'll carry on pretending that he's still 15:tongue:

BTW thanks guys for answering some of my queries.

The captain will have a huge bearing on how we perform. We have never lacked talent, but we have always lacked leadership. The decision of who captains the team is a big one,and it will have a significant impact on our performance in the tournament. And even if Afridi leads Pakistan to victory in the world cup,i doubt if he will be rated as high as Imran. The same goes for Misbah.Having said that, what's with the Afridi hate?If he does lead the team to victory,he would deserve a massive amount of credit for it.
