I must admit I cannot corroborate that he is a bonafide racist as I have no proof , its unlikely that a video will emerge with Hair wearing a pointy white hood and ceremonial robes just as it seems unlikley that a video will emerge where a pakistan bowler was caught scrtaching the ball in the fourth test.
Are you saying Pakistan did tamper with the ball??

I'm quite confused as to why the ICC release the e-mail Hair sent to the public then defended him over it, doesn't make sense to me, surely they knew this would make a lot of people have a lesser opinion of Hair than they did before.

I cannot and will not go as far to call him a racist.

Speed has made a very Loud statement by making these letters public. The 'defence' as you call it, is merely diplomatic trash.

PS. JustTool Try being reasonably passionate and you might get a better response. :)
Agree with everything you said. Specially the advice to JustTool.

Damn, how can you play an ODI series and act like nothings going on? Cricket is in its biggest crisis since Cronje, and we all carry on around the country carrying on like nothing happened!
I haven't been following cricket a lot, but after All this. I'm yearning to see some..

Now, it has shifted all towards Hair, thanks to his own antics. It will definitely be easier to just get on with it. Atleast i hope so.

A quick question, SJS might know this one.

Surely this isn't the first time a team has staged a protest of some sort?

Has it happened before?

Has the captain taken a team off the ground?

I can vaguely remember one or two occasions, but they were all sub=continental teams. Surely a non sub continental team has done it before?

This might have been said already but there is a report in the NZ Herald today saying that the ECB have contacted the NZC about New Zealand replacing Pakistan and Snedden has apparently agreed to an ODI series should Pakistan quit the tour.

Inzamam's hearing put off until september which means the ODI series will go ahead...YES!
Yes, but does that mean Pakistan will boycott the Champions Trophy in protest of any adverse ruling by the ICC , should that come about ?

That would still end up being a loss imo for the ECB, admittedly a lesser one. If i were the TV companies, id' be paying less for england vs new zealand. Crowds would drop as well.

Pakistan draw crowds, especially to the one dayers. Shahid Afridi himself must draw a couple of thousand.

Can you explain me why so many people are getting on FRAZ ? It's like you want him banned again. Although I don't share some of his opinions I think he is a real asset to CW and I'm a saddened by the reaction of quite a few here.
I agree with you 100 % or 500 % even...

I really am disappointed by the attitudes of some members on this forum... This forum is about diverse opinions ... and if someone brings out a differering view point we should discuss it and put counter opinions etc.. Not being silly about it or saying how dare you dare have any other opinion than ours .... I am also sick of some people's intolerance of other forum members and putting out posts saying Shut Up.. etc.. that really is pretty damn poor in a forum meant to be about diverse opinions.

And ridiculing others because their language is not 100% perfect is pretty poor as well.
Not everyone here is a native speaker of the Queen's language , being a bit more tolerant of grammatical errors etc.. should not be too much to ask...
Pretty poor from some people here who choose ridicule others on the forum , without taking into consideration these sort of factors..

I am sure this forum will be all the more poorer and damn boring place if everyone had same opinions and the posts were monotonous ..

Before accusing forum members of something you should try to know the facts. It has nothing to do with command over language. Disagree with Fraza and he starts throwing personal insults. And he has his ways of doing that e.g. word to word translate urdu insults in English or call Indians as Monglians, implying that all Indians are vegetarians by calling them spinach lovers etc etc..

Few days ago someone(Indian) disagreed with him and he said something about september of 1965. Now it may not mean anything to you, but India-Pak fought a war in 1965 so on and so forth. Unfortunately for him, since some mods on this forum are much smarter than he can imagine, one of the mods founds that out and warned him.

Trust me, no one wants him banned, even In 2004 when Fraza was banned and I was against his banning despite his repeated insults on Indians.

Since he has come back, Fraz appears to be clearly making an effort not to put his foot in his mouth (I mean it as a genuine comliment not sarcasm).

Lets make him feel welcome and act with maturity.

Yes it has happened before.

AND NO Sub continental teams havent always been involved:)

1. Trent Bridge 1973 Windies vs England
Umpire Fagg refused to give Geofferey Boycott out on appeal and the West indian players were very hostile in their reactions. Fagg refused to take the field

Cricinfo : From 1959 to his death he was one of the First-Class umpires and from 1967 to 1976, when he retired for reasons of health, was on the panel of Test-Match umpires. His long tenure of this appointment is sufficient testimony to the respect in which he was held and, when at Birmingham in 1973 he threatened to withdraw after the second day because of the behaviour of some of the West Indian side who had disagreed with one of his decisions, he could be sure of public sympathy. He did not indeed appear on the field on the third morning until the second over, Alan Oakman, the Warwickshire coach, having stood during the first.

2. Dunedin 1983 : Windies vs NZLand
West Indies refused to take the field protesting against the decisions of umpire Fred Goodall

Great Reading

That night, West Indies packed up their kit and emptied the dressing room. Although the next day was the rest day, they did not anticipate returning and expected to be leaving New Zealand altogether. During a three-hour squad meeting a vote was taken and the majority, including Rodriguez, said they wanted to quit the tour. But when the West Indies board was advised, it made it clear that was not an option.

3. 1987 : England vs Pakistan :
Umpire Shakoor Rana refused to continue untill Gatting gave a written apology which he finally scrawled on a scrap of paper

Cricinfo :

The incident that made him famous came on the second day when Gaffing signalled David Capel to come in no further from deep square-leg as Eddie Hemmings moved in to bowl. Shakoor put his hand up to stop play and then accused Gatting of cheating. The following day was dominated by diplomatic efforts to produce a face-saving apology from both protagonists.

It has always been thought that it was Shakoor, egged on by Javed Miandad, who refused to back down. But Raman Subba Row, chairman of the old TCCB, has a different angle. "I did my best to broker a mutual apology," he remembers. "Shakoor actually went along with this. But Michael did not." In the end Gatting was forced to scribble a note of apology -- which Shakoor treasured so much that he kept it under his pillow. The third day's play was lost, however, and with it England's chance of squaring the series.
