***Official*** Pakistan in England

England to lose One-day status?

We stumble from tragedy to farce. Worringly Asif seems to have the wood over KP too.

Broad seems to be the real deal tho, just hope we don't break him by overbowling him too soon.

Isn't that roughly the time it took for a certain M. Asif to rise to stardom?
M. Asif rose to stardom by taking wickets in test matches.

Broad has merely bowled well in a total of 8 overs.

Yay, well-deserved no-result I think:laugh:

At least we didn't get to see Rikki bowl, about the only plus-point of the match I think.

Bell-colly-Dalrymple, the least inspiring middle-order in the history of ODIs?

Push those singles boys, Hafeez 1-33 off ten ffs, only England could give him figures like that.

World-cup humilation, is on the cards.

Man I've been trying to get on this site all day!! Unfortunately, the rain doesn't seem to be cooperating. Otherwise, this should be a game that Pak should easily win.
Same feeling, tried to come on this afternoon during the batting debacle to bemoan how **** and pathetic an innings Andrew Strauss played and how Asif seemingly makes KP look rather ordinary.

Good job the weather intervened though Broad bowled rather well again, which is one positive I guess.

Broad has bowled brilliantly for his county and has looked very good in his only chances so far. Let's hope they don't **** him about like they did with Anderson.

To be honest I think our immediate priority should be to protect him from strong gusts of wind....Stuart he may be, but Broad he is not. :D

Odds on a tailender top-scoring for us in one of these five ODIs? Goughie seems in better nick than Collingwood these days.

Well again not alot of positives for England, but i'll still believe that even though England are stuggling to put together a decent ODI side in this crucial phase leading up to the world cup, as Hussain was saying on commentary today, once guys like Flintoff & Giles, Harmison & probably Jones come back i think England potential have a side that can do well in the caribbean.

With the injured players back England could probably look like this in the windies:

Trescothick
Bell
KP
Strauss
Freddie
Colly
Dalrymple
Read
Gough - Giles/Broad/Tremlett/Chapple
Harmison
Anderson

Thats a very capable side, people are constantly talking about where certain players should bat in the side, for me i think England should have Trescothick & KP in the top 3 for sure they are the best batsmen & they should be in early, Bell can play a good anchor role, while Strauss has always looked a better player in the middle order in ODI's. Then Flintoff/Colly/Dalrymple completes a solid middle to lower-order.

In the bowling the only debatable position is with Gough/Giles/Broad, i strongly believe Gough can be a very useful part of England's ODI attack for the world cup, but if he doesn't fire young Broad could play, if not there is always guys like Tremlett or possibly Chapple to fall back on since i don't think other fast bowlers i.e Mahmood/Plunkett/Lewis are good enough for the ODI team.

Or even Giles as the main spinner, where he can bowl in tanden with Dalrymple since slow bowlers may play a key part in the middle-overs during the world cup.

On another note, it seems as though Asif as found in weakness in Pietersen's batting which is not good with the ashes coming up..

Not the case. All Asif's dismissals of Pietersen have been different. The case is simply that Mohammad Asif is a very, very good bowler, and has had a bit of luck. There's no particular weakness in KP's technique he's exploited - if anything, he's exploiting KP's mental block against his bowling.

Yes the dismissals have been different but there has been times especially yesterday where Asif was nipping the ball back into Pietersen & for the 1st time i saw him look fairly uncomfortable at the crease.

Again, personally I'd put that down to Asif being a very, very good bowler. Unfortunately for us.

Yes in fact I say put Colly for the new-bowl spell, and the Dazzler in the middle-order, can't do any worse, then we are doing.

Pietersen
Broad (why not?)
Strauss
Rikki
Dalrymple
Read
Mahmood
Collingwood

It does it for me Barney, except Rikki being there, the Phil Neville of English Cricket, Yet I realise you went for the side selected. I'm worried that Mahmood may not have a chance though, because theres not much batting behind him.
