I find it hard to pinpoint Pakistan's strengths as a team. I guess the clue is in the word "team". But clearly they've proved that they are more than just UAE bullies now. Well done to them, drawing a 4-match series away in England is an excellent result.

That was actually unbelievable. Was looking solid as a rock playing straight, Finn looking similarly good, plays reverse sweep.

Wow 2-2 is a great result. Could well have been 3-1 or 2-1 in pak favor. Well played boys. Beyond expectations

They've got the world's best leg spinner (arguably the best spinner period), a really good middle order with a particularly awesome #4, a good captain and a pace attack with the tools to get breakthroughs on flat wickets. Those are their strengths. It probably is more about a lack of weaknesses (openers overseas, aside) than actually having a few guns like you'd usually expect from a top Pakistan team, but they've got proper strengths too.

On a brighter note, Jimmy is now among the Top 100 run scorers for England of all time. 32 more runs and he will overtake WG.

Openers aside (which is a general world cricket problem), very few weaknesses. Every other top side has weaknesses and question marks over several aspects of their side, Pakistan don't have those problems while also having a couple of extremely good cricketers in their ranks.

They've also probably got the best captain in the business. When you think how much of a circus has sorrounded Pakistan in the past, there's been almost **** all drama that's hit them in the last few years (aside from Yasir's indiscretions when it comes to taking banned substances). That is remarkable, and speaks volumes for what Misbah has instilled in the team. It's a crying shame that Misbah wasn't leading the side in 2010, who knows what might have been different for Amir in particular if he'd had a solid leader like Misbah to look up to instead of an utter **** like Salman Butt?

They're the cricketing equivalent of a Jose Mourinho team*, they're rarely flashy or mega exciting to watch, but they know what they're good at and they know how to win Test matches.

*certainly are not as dislikeable as a Mourinho team. Apart from the drug cheat and the match fixer.
