The bowling is pretty settled with Yardy, Swann + Broad, Anderson, Bresnan. Although some would rather see Bresnan replaced by another seamer.

The question is which one of the 7 batsmen miss out if they're all fit and available. That will be a tough call. Could be Bell I suppose.

Remain to be convinced by Ravi. Has the raw material to make a go of it without ever quite suggesting he's Compton reincarnated, but never looks completely composed at the crease to me.

With young talents like Buttler and Taylor in the wings, not to mention Bell & KP to come back I wonder how many more chances he'll be given?

&, if he ever stops eating, we've potentially got Sammy Patel too.

Surely you don't need either?

Strauss
Davies
Trott
KP
Colly
Bell
Morgan

Granted Colly and KP getting through a full ten is dodgy, but specialists>weakening the batting with Luke Wright or Ravi.

Do you guys have an honest County genuine allrounder who could do a job? Hearing decent things about Yardy.
In terms of a genuine all-rounder, we probably have a handful of slow-bowling options that are decent with the bat such as Samit Patel, Adil Rashid, Ian Blackwell, and Mike Yardy who you've already mentioned.

In the quicker bowling all rounders department there are fewer choices and lesser quality. Medium pacers such as Peter Trego, Darren Maddy, Darren Stevens (questionable whether they're genuine all-rounders), and in the future maybe Chris Woakes can develop into a genuine all-rounder.

Now if Ryan ten Doeschate had opted for the England route, there's one player that would have fitted into that role.

The ECB must call off the tour. You can't allow the opposing chairman to get away with the comments he's made. To say that after all the goodwill England have shown towards Pakistan not only now but also after ovalgate just beggars belief.

It will be quite sad...but you are right may be this will work as a last nail in the coffin for Butt and he gets kicked out of PCB...but still not bigger then the SL team shooting, if that couldn't get him out then this may not be enough either.....he has truly ruined it for Pak Cricket...biggest **** of all times this guy. ..

I'm sure the ECB appreciates being told to **** off like so having spent such time, money and energy on such a basketcase such as the PCB.

EDIT: Bad typo, that

this is what happens when you make political appointments sooner or later you will get a nutjob who will destroy everything that comes in his way.I will not be shocked if he himself is involved in match fixing/spot fixing maybe forcing players to do it on his behalf afterall he is singlehandedly responsible in not letting Younis Khan in the side as Younis was one player who wanted all the match fixing mafia out of the side.

Very hard to know what to say about this, it really is depressing, and I'm very much in the camp of not wishing to see Pakistan tour here again for a very long time now. Which saddens me.

Butt backtraking somewhat

So very much this. Has well and truly got to be past the point where you have take a stand on moral grounds, and completely forget about the $$$ side of things. Still can't quite believe Butt was stupid enough to say it. I mean, I knew he was a bit of a nutter, but sheesh.

I know no-one wants to talk about the cricket, but Swanneh has bowled beautifully here. Looks pissed off though.

Dark days for Pakistan and all, but one of the bright spots at the crease here. Really like this Fawad Alam guy. Criminal he's only played 3 tests when...others...have played too many, especially with the record he has.

Hafeez doesn't have an awful test average, is he in contention?

Hafeez playing a pretty decent innings here. Mohammed "I average 50 in tests but you'd never guess it when you watch me throw my wicket away" Yousuf should be watching this.

What's the atmosphere between the players like? And what's this about an altercation between Trott and Riaz?

Its not gone overboard as of yet but there has been quite alot said and the umpires have had to intervene a couple of times
