I thought Hameed looked really good when India toured earlier in the year, though admittedly he made most of his runs on flat tracks and did look vulnerable driving outside the off stump. Has he struggled since then?

Also, and this probably shows how out of touch I am, is Taufeeq injured?

i admit pakistan battin was poor ..... but ... com eto think of it batting was never pakistan's plus points ..
its our bowling that has won us matches..
and there is not a single time when our bowling hasn't fought back..
on the other hand .. india's strenght has always been batting an dnot bowling ( infact some ppl even have a sucpicion that india wouldn;t even be able to take all 20 wickes against australiaa on pitches that are not doctored like the mumbai one )......India has never given a good fight with its bowling to australlia ..
it has always been their bastmen .
so according to ur theory india should not get any good vanues

Pakistan does not have a good batting line up yet but it is very inexperienced.With salman butt there is alot of potential there and hopefully with bob he can become a better player.

yeh india only get 20 wickets on dug up pitches at india.Anyways Pakistans batting is not that poor just inexperienced.Still india can face bangladesh now in the battle of the minnows between them and bangladesh.

I think the Pak team for the first test should be like this,

Salman
Farhat
Younis
Inzi
Youhanna
Razzak/Malik (whoever can bat better)
Akmal
Akhter
Sami
Khalil
Danish.

Sami is crap but would be in playing eleven coz Shabbir isn't available. Salman and Younis has shown good form and therefore should be in the side (though ideally Taufeeq Umar should have been in the side).

The batting will depend largely on Inzi & Youhanna, if Younis and Salman comes good then Pak can put up a respectable score and in such a case they can put up a good fight.

Wickets will be shared mostly by Akhter and Danish.If Pak gets enough runs to defend then Akhter will put heart into his job and can be dangerous.If Pak batters falters, then Akhter will come up with a spiritless performance and Australia will get on top!

I would change the batting order here ti Inzemam and Yohanna at three and four respectively. I might send Malik before Younis Khan depending on match situation.

I think Razzaq's place should be assured.

Nah im sure younis is going to be at no 3 as he played there in the test matches against sri lanka and the warm up match against WAs 2nd team.He made 2 centurys in the last 3 test matches so he will be at no3.

You have got four front-line bowlers there with 2 more who can get in a useful spell or two. A bit weak in the batting department lower-down but It's time the first six accomplish what they are paid for.

What I wouldn't give to have Pre-2000 Moin and Wasim back!

Yeah he cannot be used as a 3rd seamer, basically he will be required to come in and bat at the important number 6 spot.Now its either going to be Razzak or S malik for number 6 position. I would personally go in with the player who is better with the bat, which happen to be Malik at the moment. However i've a feeling that Pak will go with Razzak on Pirth test match coz the pitch assist pacers and Pakistan would like to utilize Razzak as the 4th pacer!
