But just hard work is not enough, talent is also required and i think this Pakistani team isn't well equipped to match Australia and later on India in India.

Batting talent is minimal at best!

I dont think so...
the only problem is the temperament of the batsmen..
more so the temperament of the openers..
Shoaib Malik, Inzi, Butt and Youhana have been doing pretty well..(in the temperament dept.)
won test series against S.Africa, Newzealand and havent been doing badly in the one days as well...test series loss against India was disappointing but that too was 2-1...
the key is temperament and concentration of the batsmen and that would come with hardwork and discipline...if they work on that, there talent will carry them through..

I don't think Malik can excel in Australia is test matches, haven't seen much of butt, so i can't comment on him. However the biggest problem for pakistan will be the opening batsmen. If the openers fails (very likely) and the guy comming at one down is not able to do anything special then Paakistan team would struggle to even reach a 150 run score in Australia.

I'm surprised to see the matches against Pakistan being played at major cricket grounds in Australia. Not long back Bangladesh toured Australia and they were made to play on small or relatively unknown grounds.Considering the potential of Pakistan team (and its past record against Australia) they should have been given the same treatment as given to Bangladesh!

Gotta say I disagree. Theyve got some good younger guys and of course Inzi and Youhana.

It's just a matter of if they can discipline themselves against guys like McGrath and Gillespie who can be quite miserly and will punish any indecision.

That said I doubt they'll win a Test match unless Shoaib can roll our top-order over for very few,Sami lives up to the hype and Danish Kaneria will be important. Thyeve got enough potential matchwinners in their bowling department, as long as their batsmen can adapt well enough in the next two games and get some confidence they might be able to put up some scores which will let their bowlers loose on the Aussies.

I wouldnt quite go that far. However, whoever decided to give the Pakistan team top billing - ie Melbourne and Sydney Tests - needs to be held accountable!

It's hardly a chance - doing well in this game is about akin to doing well in a club game.
Makes sense to save Shoaib for the more important game.

All depend how well Pakistan do against Australia.I believe a 3-0 whitewash is for certain but if Pakistan make Australia fight for a win then its fine, however if the match ends in 3 days (which i fear it will) then in future CA should avoid holding matches against Pak at major venues.

Whatever the result, the Pakistanis always play attractive cricket.. They deserve to be given the top venues.
