How's about that yorker to Gilchrist from The Shoaib? Pity he's probably only got one more over in the spell.
yeah that looked like it could have hurt.
and australia brings up the 100 off 31 overs, 5 wickets

when do you think pakistan will bring in kaneria? my guess is not for a while, especially with gilchrist in now.

It was more of a good ball than a poor shot. Great outswinger; swung perfectly, but not too much to miss the bat. It drew Clarke into pushing at it and had the desired effect.

How about a good ball & a poor shot. Look at his front foot, didn't go any further than middle stump to a ball that was well outside offstump. Bad footwork can contribute to a poor shot.

I would have brought him in before Razzaq, or at least brought Sami back.

i would have brought back Sami myself, he's been bowling pretty well i reckon, and it'd put more pressure on the aussies.

I know it is premature talk, but this partnership is looking very dangerous. Pakistan really need to restrict Australia to under 200, especially having them 5/78. Whilst Australia may be bowled out for 300 or so, it will really take any roll that Pakistan had away from them, and with their fragile batting line-up they will need to have a roll on.

Clarke disappointed me, a little. Well, he certainly didn't live up to the hype, but it is early days still. I cannot offer any sort of opinion, let along a conclusive one till I have watched him play atleast 10 innings. [and this was the first]

He also probably got caught up in the psychological interplay. Shoaib is not an easy bowler, specially if he is pumped up and spitting venom. He'll learn how to accomodate this better as he grows up in cricketing stature.

As for shuffling: Yes, I am aware that batsman shuffle. But the ammount of shuffling Lehmann does is exagerated at best.

When I saw him shuffle across for every ball, I knew he would be bowled behind his legs.

It has happened too many times before.

It is not pre-mature talk. The last thing Pakistan needs to do is throw away the [rather unexpected] advantage. And balls have the tendency of disappearing very quickly with Gilly on the crease. He won't be discouraged by the fact that five wickets are down and a lot depends on him, he will most probably play his natural game which will make him an even more dangerous customer because he will doing what he does best.

And frankly, I can't see Pakistan scoring more then 300 here. Perhaps, if someone sprinkles Holy Water or works a miracle or two, but the chances of that happening is marginally better then a snowball's chance in hell.

i agree with you there about this partnership. both players are looking in good touch and theyre scoring at nearly 5 an over. i think anything over 250 would be a hard total for the pakistanis given the current form of the aussie bowlers.

Great innings from the always under-rated Langer.

Holding this sinking-but-now-surfacing ship afloat.
he really seems to be performing lately. right now a good score depends on langer hanging in there, i think.

The run rate is almost up to four. The Langer/Gilchrist partnership is 50 already.

A wicket here and Pakistan are still well on top, but if they go wicketless in the session Australia could easily be 200+.

They have been excellent in the field, and the bowling has been brilliant, they need to keep these high standards up to compete with Australia.

how bad where Ponting and Lehmann's shots tho..

I think Ponting is just a little out of sorts but Lehmann always gets his leg stump knocked back by really quick bowlers..

To be fair on Ponting, I think it was upon him faster than he expected. :p

Especially against bowling of that speed.
