It is not the first time that Lehmann has been bowled around his legs by Akhtar.Beleg said:I cannot quite fathom how the Oz's were able to squander four wickets on the bowling they were getting. The shot Lehmann played was downright laughable. You do not shuffle and go back to ball pitched at 150 K's however good a batsman you are. Hayden got a good ball, fair enough. Ponting lost his cool and Martyn fished outside off needlessly. Of all the four dismisal's, only the first was a potential wicket-taking ball.
Infact more deserving balls got unlucky. The one Sami balled to Langer earlier on in the innings which missed his off-stump by a hair after swinging in pitching at off were an absolutely beauty.
Our third seamer needs to either increase his pace by more then a notch, or do some serious experimenting with his line, length and morale. All in all, Pakistan bowled and Aussie's batted worse then the stat's tell.
It really was. The kind of thing that shouldn't happen in first class cricket, let alone test cricket. He just plain didn't know where his stumps were. And it's certainly not the first time that's happened.Beleg said:The shot Lehmann played was downright laughable.
as if hed change it! katich does it, i do it for club (i know its not the same) ... its a done thing. it certainly helps the lefty batting, or at least i find it does.Beleg said:Any ideas on why Lehmann continues to play the way he does? Has it been successful against quality pacers of other teams?
I am a lefty too, and I find it helps to shuffle across the crease, though I am a hopeless batsman. Seems to work for Lara and Lehmann so I wouldn't advise them to change.Nnanden said:as if hed change it! katich does it, i do it for club (i know its not the same) ... its a done thing. it certainly helps the lefty batting, or at least i find it does.
lehmanns test career has been quite successful and wouldnt of been if he couldnt play pacemen

Gilly! Warne... Pidge: bat well
Lara has been bowled around the legs on more than a few occasions, most recently by Flintoff.Mister Wright said:It is one thing to shuffle accross your crease, Kirsten, Chanderpaul, Lara & Katich all do it to good effect.
However, it is another thing to get bowled around your legs by a fast bowler on at least more than one occasion.
He was an excellent exponent at it early in his career, but in the twighlight of his career, it almost seems cavalier.
Globe?Beleg said:Which he is proving to be.
Langer's pull was too freakin' good to let go without a comment. Props to OZ's mental toughness, corny and rehearsed it may sound but IMO this is the main trait that distinguishes them from the other teams around the gloab.
It was more of a good ball than a poor shot. Great outswinger; swung perfectly, but not too much to miss the bat. It drew Clarke into pushing at it and had the desired effect.Mister Wright said:Poor shot from Clarke - no footwork, good catch from Inzi.
Australia in the mire 5/78.
would be nice to see any partnership hereFaaipDeOiad said:Yeah, Langer has been good. I'm starting to remember the amazing Langer/Gilchrist stand in Hobart last Pakistani tour. Langer and Ponting also put on a beauty in Perth that time.
Would be nice to see something like that here.
