Give me a sec and I'll find the numbers. Bancroft was 1700 odd runs at 46 and renshaw was 1450 at 56 when renshaw was on 40 odd earlier today
Renshaw has scored 658 Shield runs in the last 2 seasons at 38 and one of his innings was 200* on a bigger road than this one

He’s done much better for Australia A and PMXI than for Queensland

He's also made county runs in the past two years, unlike Bancroft, and has better numbers then Bancroft in the last 12 months. Only reason Bancroft even has a conversation here is cause he's dominated the shield the past 2 years.

I think it's worth noting that Renshaw has been picked in four Australia 2nd XI FC games in the last 12 months. If form in these games is considered when making Test selections then here is what he did:

81 & 101* (PM XI vs WI)
112 & 78 (AUS-A vs NZ-A)
2 & 140 (AUS-A vs NZ-A)
136* (PM XI vs Pak)

That's a good reason to have him on standby for when Warner fails in 1st Test

Runs are obviously better than failures but they’re 4 very ordinary attacks

Roach, seales and joseph is ordinary? The NZ A attacks where fine aswell, better than some of the bowling attacks in the shield, particularly the second game.

Dude please

That Windies team was one of the worst ever to tour here and it wasn’t a NZ A attack

Bro . . . names on paper sure but the WI bowled worse than a club attack on their last tour here. And the one before that too

They bowled well on the first day of the first test when there bowling attack was actually fit and half functioning, they just couldn't catch a cricket ball to save their lives. Half the attack broke down by the second innings of the first test and there part time wickey was bowling bulk overs of medium pace by the end.

Kugglejin is taking wickets for fun in his last 6 months of red ball cricket despite being a rapist, van beek is solid and toole is very good. Ashok is a good spinner aswell. The attack was good in the second game. Also, this whole "the windies attack sucks" thing from that tour is horseshit. They bowled well to start the series, the issue was none of their bowlers could stay fit and their fielders refused to catch the ball when they where fit and creating chances.

That 2015 / 16 summer was one of the most utterly boring times I've had watching a summer.

Marlon Samuels with a mummified hand in the Hobart outfield while Voges and Marsh achieve godhood. Ridiculous

Whatever it takes!!!
Even if you don't think strike rates/attacking play matters that much in Tests, you have to say that Khawaja Renshaw Labuschagne Smith is not the world's most captivating top four now that Smith too is batting at a crawl a lot of the time in Test matches.
You will have a lot of 200/2 in 90 overs

Well Abrar was their highest wicket taker in two of the three series he's played. Nauman had a better performance in Sri Lanka and might get selected on that, but not a certain thing. As for the fast bowlers, Hasan's got expeirnace but is crap, and the only other option is Wasim Jr. who's as inexperienced as anyone playing.
Hasan Ali has a very respectable Test Record ..

78 Test wickets in 22 Tests @ 25.67
