Maybe the deck's a bit drier than we think and might already be turning? That ball nearly hitting is....interesting.

The deck is extremely dry but that ball is mostly because he's played back to a half volley and the ball is new, so it pops.

Sajid Khan so close to spoiling the Warner party before stumps.

Still don't know why Pakistan bowled a spinner for the last over rather than a pacer.

You always have to expect the unexpected with them though.

Also, only 78.1 overs for a day (plus three for the innings break) is pretty disgraceful. There was so much time lost due to stuffing around with the field, not to mention Shakeel with the bloody sight screen. I think the tone was set from the get go when they started the match nearly two minutes late.

This wasn't the roadiest SCG pitch and that innings from Pakistan wasn't the meekest of surrenders but where Australia have a cheat code in Pat Cummins who can maximise movement off the pitch on any deck that has just a little bit in it to precipitate a collapse even when the other blokes look meh, Pakistan's change bowlers are just going to let off pressure any time there's a glimmer of hope due to some tight bowling.

This series has been a good time to be an Agha and Rizwan fan. Pleased with Jamal too obviously. Pakistan's tail has been horrendous of late and a ballsy lower order batsman helps a lot. Only guy who actually committed to the pull and made things look easier. That limp dick shuffle pull needs to be beaten out of Pakistan's batters.

Australia being carried by Cummins and 1 or 2 good knocks from the batters which just barely saves them.

They are not looking like the dominant force they used to be.

Warner showing why his replacement should be a specialist opener (and not Green). He faced up when Khawaja could have easily done it, while Labuschagne didn't even put his whites on as he ducked behind Lyon as nightwatchman.

With the way WTC fines work, Australia will probably lose half their points from the previous two wins.

Also, with regards earlier comments about Afridi being rested for the dead rubber, theoretically there are no dead rubbers in the WTC. Or maybe, no one really cares about it.

I thought if you bowled out a side under a certain period of time the point penalities were waived. So depends on how long Pakistan's second innings runs.

Please drop Starc for the WIndies. We might yet find a strike bowler who actually bowls like a strike bowler in Australia.
Ain’t happening

Starc actually deserves his spot & we can’t even get rid of Warner

Good point, Pakistan will need to bat 160 overs for the match for Aus to get a penalty (unlikely).

I get that Starc is a bit more erratic than what Australian supporters might expect, but he does what is said on the tin and takes wickets, even if he is sometimes expensive. A definite strike bowler. It was my impression that it was Hazlewood who looked more laboured over the last few months or so in test matches.

Whatever it takes!!!

They may well lose this test and end up 3-0 but I said it at the start of the series, I except it to be more India in Aus 2015 than India in Aus 2011. Masood has been lowkey impressive as a captain too and I like how he had Sajid bowl that one over. It shows the type of unconventional but yet logical thinking which is what seperates someone who can make a difference just as a captain IMO. Bit of a shame he is so loose as a batsman but he still seems to have figured out a way to make the most of his abilities.
