The decision made sense. I wouldn't go as far to say I absolutely agree with it, but it does make sense.

Not really. It wasn't even an annoying "umpires call sucks" one because it was literally scrapping the bails.
Do we even know if what he thought about the height though? He clearly just gave it out because he thought he hit it.

I dunno it makes no difference to the result but it just feels so annoying in a pitch where it is so ridiculously hard to get wickets.

"Turns out Oxenfrod thought there was an inside edge, with Stokes diving to take the catch, but since he didn't give it out lbw, then umpire's call is not out. Got that? Good"

Doesn't an appeal cover all forms of dismissal.

Can some one pleas explain why if the ball was caught off the bat, an appeal is made that it can then be not out ?

Have the rules changed that you have to appeal for each form of dismissal seperately ?
The appeal can cover all forms all it likes, but the umpire didn't give him out c Stokes lbw b Anderson.

He can only be out one method, and the umpire gave him out caught. The umpire did not think it was out lbw. So umpire's call on the ball tracker was not out lbw.

Thanks for that , missed the bit about it not being a catch

Rashid has bowled well today. Shame he still needs another wicket to keep that bowling average under 3 figures...

True actually. The on field umpire was the one who gave it not out in the end though, so if he'd originally thought it was smashing into the stumps he would've presumably just given it out. It would've been nice to listen to the umpire chat like we did in the summer though.

According to Bumble he told the third umpire immediately that it was out caught, not leg before.
