England will be pleased with today's proceedings. Let's see how Pakistan respond now that they've been put under the hammer

Not sure this was such a good day for England. I'd still fancy Pakistan to win from this position and the Stokes injury could be a massive blot going forward. It being his bowling arm there is no guarantee of an easy or complete recovery.

Sky just posted a graphic of new ball pairs with the most wickets but used Steyn and Morkel who have only played a small portion of their games opening the bowling together.

I think it's fair to say that was Moeen Ali's day, best of the spinners and 100% of Englands runs.

Anderson/Broad bowled as well as they ever have as a pairing here. Sensational. Got a huge chance here if one of the top 4 can ton up, Get a lead of 150 + and win the game, massive chance here.

I think the graphic was for fast bowling partnerships, and the commentators were getting confused. It would explain why they were referencing Broad and Anderson having "overtaken" Waqar and Wasim as a new ball partnership, despite (according to the graphic) having done that 60 odd wickets ago.

Yeah, England would be much better placed if Pakistan were 300/4.

yeah don't get that. Sure Pakistan would still fancy themselves to win from here, but doesn't make it not a great day for Eng.

It's debatable whether the benefits of one good day outweigh the negatives of Stokes having an injury, which could possibly see him miss the rest of the winter.
