State Vice-Captain
In defence of Rabada's bowling, he did have Ishant Sharma level bad luck in the first innings  ...
I watched a fair bit of the test and it seemed as though Marco Jansen was using a several tests worth of luck in getting a distinctly average 5fer. That said, I have to blame Babar more than anyone for playing an idiotic shot to get out. That shot went a long way to giving SA a score they could chase down. Another 30 or 40 more and I think it would have been beyond SA. I was mystified by the use of Aamer for what proved to be the decisive over.

I think Jansen is going to get wickets this way through his career tbh. No one grows up facing left arm seam from a 2m tall bloke so it just creates a new issue for a batters technique. He definitely doesn’t zip through like a Nandre Burger either. The real danger is when he gets it together for a spell like at Kingsmead vs Sri Lanka.

I reckon he'd love to bat at 5 or 6.

He gets to bats literally everywhere except that.
Yeah it’s a weird one imho. He has batted at 8 a few times last year and now he is at 1st drop? I’m not sure what Mulder views himself as so maybe he thinks this is a chance to show everyone he is a proper batter. I just think if he fails or if he succeeds he will be back down the order come the next Test.
