Mister Wright Tips for round 5

Season tally: 14/28

Roosters v Brisbane

Once again I never tip against Brisbane and I legitimately think we can win this one. It is the best chance to get the Roosters, they are depleted in the pack and Brisbane were very impressive last week. Look for a big game for Lockie and Seymour, they started to blossom in the 2nd half last week, especially Seymour.

Sharks v Cowboys

The Cowboys are due for a good performance and the Sharks are in turmoil. If the Cowboys don't win this one, you won't see me tipping them for the rest of the year.

Warriors v Knights

No Johns. Enough said.

Tigers v St. George

St. George were very impressive last week, but I can't remember the last time they strung two wins together. The Tigers have impressed me this year, the only thing that could work against them is they have a few players injured.

Pathers v Storm

Ok! I am now convinced the Panthers can back up last year's performance. The Storm are injury hit, the Panthers should win this one convincingly.

Bulldogs v Manly

Great to see Manly on the bottom of the table, and the Doggies should keep them there. The only thing that could work against them is the off field drama.

Eels v Souths

The Eels should return some normality to the NRL when they dispose of the Bunnies.

hmmmmm.

I'm going pretty much the same

Broncos
Warriors
Dragons
Panthers
Bulldogs
Eels

However the Sharks, Cowboys game has really got me thinking. The Sharks were woeful last week, but then again, so were the Cowboys. The Cowboys do have their stars, with players like Bowen and Sing. However the stars of Cronulla far outweigh the stars of Cowboys. The Sharks have players like Kimmorley, Bailey, Peachey, and with Vagana making debut for the club this week, you'd think that they would have a pretty good package put together. I'm tempted to go Sharks, but then I'm tempted to go Cowboys. I'm just not 100% on this one...

Well i've gone

Roosters
Warriors
Sharks
Tigers
Panthers
Bulldogs
Eels

I was tempted to go to the bunnies, but i think tipping them twice in 2 weeks is a bit much...

I think the Roosters backine is to much for the Broncos, and when you look at their Pack it still aint that weak, with Ricko, Flannery and Crocker all quality players, as well as Cusak and Catic who IMO are very under-rated...

Warriors and the Knights, IMO its just a matter of Warriors by how many..

Sharks and the Cowboys, Sharks were Bad last week, Cowboys just as bad, the only thing that kept the cowboys in the game last week was their defence, but the sharks at Shark park on a Saturday night have always been a good bet for me so i'll stick with it...

Tigers and Dragons have struggled to win 2 in a row for a while, however many are overlooking the fact that the dragons flogged a knights outfit last week, But that team was without a certain AJ.. I mean Souths U 6's could probably beat the knights without him... The Tigers are getting better cohesion every week, i think we can win and win well...

Im like Kyle, i had my doubts about the Panthers up until last week, but they have proved they are a class outfit, and are definatley the current benchmark...One thing though, both these teams like to score tries, i reckon we could be in for a 40-30 game here..

Bulldogs over the Eagles in a canter, Eagles got nothing, never had nothing and never will have anything..

Souths have had a few people looking twice so far, BUT they haven't got the side to keep it going week in week out... Parra could start a losing streak for the bunnies...

my tips this week

broncos
sharks
warriors
Tigers
panthers
Bulldogs
Eels

I nearly tipped against the broncos this week, but i cant bring myself to it, sharks really should beat the cowboys, both teams are poor outfits really, warriors will demolish newcastle im sure, tigers dragons was the hardest game of the round, but dragons are too inconsistent to warrant a tip in the close games, penrith will win, but i think it will be a high scoring close game, look for a big match from cam smith and steve kearney, bulldogs will beat manly easily and Eels should get a win against souths, but if macdougall plays well for souths they will be in it.

Mister Wright Tips for round 6

Season tally: 19/35

Bulldogs v Warriors

Despite the Warriors reeling on the bottom of the table this is a tough game to tip. The Warriors have been pathetic this season, but are a good enough team to turn it around. After the Bulldogs first round thrashing of the Eels they haven't been that impressive. Will be a good game.

Sharks v Raiders

The Sharks have lost the plot and won't be any better this week with Vagana out. The Raiders are very impressive and have a great forward pack and should win this one.

Cowboys v Broncos

Cowboys have turned their season around with an excellent win against the Sharks, but the Broncos are a different prospect. The Broncos have been, along with Penrith the best team of the competition. Lockyer is starting to love having more ball at 5/8 and the forward pack are making metres (unlike last year). Broncos will win this one easily.

Storm v Souths

Thankfuly the Eels brough some sanity back to the competition by giving Souths a hiding. The Storm have been unlucky to only win one game this season with strong performances. If they put in another strong performance against Souths they will win by 50.

Dragons v Panthers

Dragons are too incosistent and the Panthers have been very stong all season. Panthers in a close one.

Knights v Roosters

Roosters got beaten by a fitter, stronger and better team last week in the Broncos, but will not face the same efficiency against the Knights. The Knights will win the odd game without Johns but I can't see them doing it consistently.

Sea Eagles v Eels

Sea Eagles have been very pathetic this season and deserve to be on the bottom of the table. But they can put in the good performance and if the Eels aren't ready to play they could be a victim.

Warriors are due and over there in NZ should beat an unimprssive bulldogs side.

Raiders are travelling well and Sharks are hopeless, Raiders will win.

Broncos should beat the Cowboys, but they always lift for us.

Storm will give Souths a real hiding i think.

Panthers will beat saints, but i give the dragons a real chance.

Roosters wont lose 3 in a row and i think they'll win because they are better team.

Eels are playing well, but need to start on the front foot, Manly have a habit of coming home strong

After getting 6 last week, and charging into 6th in the picking comp I'm in, I have a feeling I might be taking the lead very soon...

Anyhow, some interesting games this week. A lot of away favourites, which always makes you think at least twice.

Warriors over Dogs; I don't think I'll be able to pick against my team, no matter how poor they have been. Because I could win $1000 in my picking comp, I could find myself going for the wrong team, which is something I don't want to do.

Raiders over Sharks; hehe Sharks.

Broncos over Cowboys; Broncos are in top form and despite being away from I think they'll be too good for the Cowboys.

Storm over Rabbitohs; The Rabbitohs just don't cut it and they will lose, I just know they will.

Panthers over Dragons; Hard one this. The Dragons have scored some 80 odd points in the past two weeks conseeding only 12. However that was against a lacklustre knights outfit, and the inconsistent Tigers. They'll have a real test against the Panthers, a test they are bound to lose.

Roosters over Knights; The Roosters will recover from they're defeat last week and beat the Knights. Without Johns the KNights wont lose every game, but they'll lose more than they win.

Eels over Sea Eagles; The Eels have been solid, but the Sea Eagles simply ****. Its hard to see them doing any good this season. With Hindmarsh in top form hard to see the Eels going down.

Mister Wright Tips for round 7

Season tally: 24/42

Australia v New Zealand

I'm tipping a closer game than most. If the Kiwis can get on top early they could win, but it will be their only chance. The Aussies have too much fire power in the backline if the Kiwi forwards don't dominate. From all reports Lockyer and Gower are gelling well, so watch out Kiwis!

Eels v Sharks

Could go either way. I'm only going for the Eels because they are the home team. If the Eels aren't on their game like the Raiders weren't last week they could get beaten, but I will need to see several good games from the Sharks before I am convinced.

Raiders v Knights

Canberra will not hava another bad game, even with Wiki out the forward pack is still menacing. The Knights are without Johns and possibly Kennedy and have a few players backing up the day after a test.

Storm v Cowboys

I didn't think the Cowboys played all that well last week, despite what The Courier Mail said, IMO the Broncos did enough to win, and nothing more. The Storm are dangerous at the moment and the losses they have had this year have been at the hands of teams that were better on their day. At the start of the season I wrote the Storm off, but I think they can at least make the four this season.

Broncos v Panthers

Broncos are playing much better than the Panthers at the moment. Both packs are hard and strong and it will be a battle in the forwards to allow the backs to work their magic. For me, it will be the performance of Lockyer and Seymour that will decide this game. We know what Campbell and Gower can do (we've seen it for a season and a half) but the Lockyer/Seymour combination is young and looks good. Seymour shows a bit more of his natural talent each week and is looking better for it. I'm going to this game, so hope it lives up to expectations.

Dragons v Roosters

Dragons are red-hot at the moment and one team that can stop them is the Roosters. I haven't been all that impressed with the Roosters, they have done enough to win against the weaker sides, but when facing quality opposition like Penrith and Brisbane they have come up short. With players out injured and other backing up from the test match the Dragons should be fresh and hungry to stamp their authority on season 2004.

Tigers v Sea Eagles

Tigers are the best of a bad bunch. The Sea Eagles have been nothing short of pathetic this season, but the Tigers are coming off a bye. Toss of a coin really.

Souths v Bulldogs

Now that all the talk of Souths being contenders has died down and with MacDougall out we can see some normality brought back to the season. Another 50+ score here for the Bulldogs with many more to come for Souths.

A cheerio to all the diggers and relatives of ex-serviceman and current serviceman at this time. Happy Anzac Day to all Australians and New Zealanders.

NZ to win; don't forget last time australia raced out to a 10-0 lead. While attempting to convert the second try craig fitzgibbon slipped over and missed. sterlo goes 'i think craig need worry, he'll be taking another kick very soon.' some much for their early domination. we proceeded go crazy and kick some aussie ass winning 30-16.

Eels
Raiders
Storm
Broncos
Tigers
Dragons
Bulldogs

word up to all the diggers and co. on ANZAC day.

i would have course tipped Aus, even though the game is finished, other tips for this week

Eels
Raiders
Storm (i think they could score 60)
Broncos
Dragons
Manly
Bulldogs

and well done on the warriors defeating the bye, a well deserved and long awaited 2 points

Blewy

Cricketer Of The Year
Eels v Sharks

Close game but sharks performance last week was to good to forget, i think they'll win..

Raiders v Knights

Raiders to beat Knights without Tahu and Kennedy...
Pretty comfortable

Storm v Cowboys

I think this will be another close one, Storm have been good, but the cowboys are slowly getting better, Melbourne to win cause its in Melbourne..

Broncos v Panthers

The Key here will be how the Test effects the stars...
Broncos with Tate, Devere, Locky, Berrigan and Webcke, whilst the Pennies have Gualvao, Puletua, Clinton, Waitahira, Waterhouse and Gowy. Broncos to win a close one i think...

Dragons v Roosters

Roosters will be to good here, Barrett out, and their other 2 stars backing up from the test, against a fresh Freddy. Roosters also having Cayless back will be a bonus even though he played in the test. My tip is also Craig Wing will be a late inclusion..

Tigers v Sea Eagles

Tigers to win here comfortably, Return of Laffranchi is a Huge boost. Manly are a 40 minute football side.

Souths v Bulldogs

Fletcher out, MacDougall Gorn, Souths Spoon....
No further comment required...

Warriors v Bye

The easiest one of the Round, despite not winning a game all season, the Bye could start a good run this week by defeating the warriors and then backing it up next week against the eagles.. Go the BYE!!!!

Also send a cherio to all the diggers who fought to make our great country what it is today....
Thankyou, Have a great day

manly can win i think, menzies is moving back to the fowards, walker is hitting form, heckenberg is in great form in the pack, michael monaghan is just getting settled in at half back, scott donald is due for a few more tries, i just think they have more game breakers than the tigers. If its a slog tigers will win, but neither of these teams are in the sort of form that warrants a foward battle, a high scoring game to be won by manly me thinks.... :)

Menzies isnt good enough!!!
are you crazy, when hes in form he is one of the best back rowers in the premiership, not to mention hes 2nd on the ist for most tries by a foward in League history.
